I have always loved being girly, but it wasn’t until recently that I felt comfortable wearing dresses and skirts constantly around everyone. I felt like… I was doing something to stand out and get attention, when really I was just dressing in a way that makes me feel a whole heck of a lot prettier, and I am always more comfortable in something like this vs jeans and a tee.

So about two weeks ago, I challenged myself to wear a dress or a skirt everywhere I went. Library, work, movie nights… any get-together or ANY outing whatsoever, I challenged myself to take the extra time and be bold enough to dress the way I WANT to dress, and not try to fit in.

I haven’t worn pants in two weeks.

I may never wear them again unless I absolutely HAVE to.

I’ve never felt prettier. Dresses and skirts flatter my figure so much more than jeans do; I have so many more options on pairing things and patterns and accessories (the shoes!), and I am honestly a whole lot happier when I’m wearing a dress.

Now… I don’t feel conspicuous wandering around in a dress when nearly every other woman is wearing jeans or sweats. I feel beautiful. I feel unique.

I love being a girl.
