Yesterday, we were too lazy to go anywhere to take pictures. The whole day was kind of lazy, and neither of us wanted to make the effort to find a better location. So, this is my driveway, where we spent about twenty minutes taking somewhat frustrating pictures because Mr. Owl’s camera was going wonky, and then afterwards we went back inside where I changed into my (newly purchased) really comfortable exercise pants and we played Donkey Kong on the Wii and then watched Captain America.

Yes, I know. I lead a glamorous life.

I bought a few new skirts on Saturday on an impromptu thrifting trip. This one in particular reminded me of the Corilynn skirts that are way out of my budget but that I love, so of course I had to get it. I mean, it’s not a perfect replica, but it was roughly $108 less than the real thing, so who am I to complain?

I’m easy to please.

Also on Saturday, Mr. Owl and I finally went to see The Dark Knight Rises at the IMAX theater. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was doubtful that Anne Hathaway could pull off Catwoman (I’m don’t dislike Hathaway, but I think she’s always the same), and she wasn’t surprising or different than her normal, but she was okay. I wasn’t disappointed in her. And the rest of the movie made up for her same-ish performance anyway.

Afterwards, Mr. Owl decided that I should be Catwoman for Halloween, and he would be Batman. To which one of his friends replied that I would have to find a lot of leather, and Mr. Owl would have to start doing pushups or get a costume with fake muscles. And I snorted.

I feel like this post is just a bunch of random snippets from the weekend. Well… okay, it is.

To add to the randomness: I do my actual weigh-ins on Monday even though I posted about it on Thursday, and I was excited to see today that I reached my weekly goal of 159! For the last few weeks, before I started eating a lot better, I would only half-do the good eating and think “oh, maybe I’ve lost weight” only to get on the scale and see I’d gained it. It’s nice to finally see the numbers go down. It motivates me to keep at it!

Today I’m going to start walking, because my cold has finally started to leave and I need to add some exercise to my routine.

{Thrifted} Shirt: $3.99 |Skirt: $6.99 | Ring: $1.50 | Belt: $0.99
{Target} Flats: $12.98
{Total} $26.45

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

I love Corilynn skirts! Why must such pretty things be so expensive??

I thought the same thing about Catwoman, too. I was like, “Anne Hathaway better not ruin this movie…” and she didn’t really, so that’s good 🙂

You’ve definitely motivated me with your weight loss posts. I’ve been trying to eat better lately, but it’s a constant struggle. i.e. OOH Gummy worms!! lol I’m still trying though! Thanks for the inspiration.

I don’t know. It makes me sad. I wish pretty things were cheaper.

Yeah, I am glad she didn’t ruin it. She wasn’t amazing, but she wasn’t terrible.

Oh, I know how you feel! It’s hard sometimes because Mr. Owl loves junk food and I have to work on not stealing his chips/candy/ice cream. He tries not to eat it around me, but I told him it’s better for him to eat what he wants so I can build up resistance to it.

Congrats on the weight loss! I’ve been sorta kinda dieting for a few months now, and I’ve been running a lot, but I haven’t really been losing any weight. And then yesterday I stepped on the scale and it said 135 😀 I seriously haven’t been 135 since, uhhh, before highschool… it’s just baby fat, right? And a few people have actually asked me if I’ve lost weight. That’s really the best feeling. Well, that and my jeans fitting again. I enjoy that feeling too.

That’s so exciting! I haven’t been 135… since a very long time. Before I was 13. I don’t know if I’ll ever be 135. Hehe. It totally is the best feeling to hop on a scale and see you’ve lost weight after a while of not losing any!

I swear, the moment I saw this skirt I thought, “oh man, if she got a Corilynn skirt, I am going to be SO jealous!” haha I can’t believe you thrifted this, it’s so pretty! I’m always impressed by the things you manage to find at thrift stores. This whole look is just lovely. And congrats on the weight loss too!

I wish I could buy a Corilynn skirt. They’re so gorgeous! But finding an imitation skirt is almost as good. 😀
Thank you! I was pretty excited to see the weight loss, even of only 2 pounds.

    Your. Skirt. Is. Amazing.

Also, I’m cheering over here for you! It is really the best thing ever to realize you’re in control of your health and your life. (:

Also-also, your weekend sounds like it was pretty stinkin’ stellar.

Isn’t it awesome? I had just read Selective Potential’s post where she’s wearing a Corilynn skirt, and then I saw this at the thrift store and there was NO way I was leaving it there. (Unless, of course, it didn’t fit me.)

      It totally is!

      Hehe. And it was.

That really is a gorgeous skirt.

And there’s nothing wrong with playing Wii Donkey Kong and watching Captain America. Compared to what I did during the weekend (read Dracula and waited for the rain to stop), yours sounds a lot more fun.

That skirt was a fantastic find! I love the pleats and pretty stripes. It’s very nautical so that’s always great in my book.
Your weekend sounds like it was a lot of fun too! I was very happy with Batman. I’d really like to see it again soon, actually. Playing Wii Donkey Kong sounds really fun in my book too.

First of all I am in love with the lighting in these photos. You look so beautiful. I also love your pleated striped skirt! Congrats on the weight loss! It’s always nice to see the numbers drop!
