If ever there was a perfect “I’m lazy, but I want to look good” dress, this is it. It’s got all the color and pattern it needs, so it takes literally no work to style or wear it. Throw on sandals an earrings, and we’re good to go. I love it. It’s also a nice light material, so it’s great for summer, AND… I’m wearing it backwards. So if I want a high neck, I can wear it properly, or backwards for a vee. It’s a pretty great dress.

We went to see The Lone Ranger and (rewatched) Monster’s University at the Drive In on Friday, and it was so much fun! The Lone Ranger was, as I expected, extremely corny at times, but wholly enjoyable. I didn’t think they really needed the flash-forward bits, those were totally irrelevant to the story, and what was with the scary bunnies? But other than that I loved it. Johnny Depp wasn’t so much the Indian version of Jack Sparrow as I had expected from seeing the previews, which was good, and Armie Hammer was perfect for The Lone Ranger role.

Also, how much fun is it to say that name? Armie Hammer. I don’t know why it gives me such a kick, it just does.

I have been really inspired lately by Alex of Into The Woods and all of her amazing photographs lately, so I decided to try a few non-standing poses of my own. I really want to start shooting pictures in places other than my driveway, and work on the composition and posing… because I’d love for my pictures to tell a story.

Then again… laying in the grass while pregnant might have been a bad idea. I’m allergic to grass, apparently. Only on the skin level, though, so thankfully it doesn’t affect my breathing at all like cats used to…

So, not to go all gross-you-out or anything, but I threw up for the first time since I’ve been pregnant, and let me tell you… the only bonus of that was being sent home from work. Seriously.  I think it was majorly induced by a lack of sleep (5 hours or less every night for the last four days), but also by my trying to force myself to eat some cup noodles… because I didn’t have anything else with me at the time.

Just when I thought I was getting over being sick, and had only been queasy once in 12 days, that happened. Oh well!

So now I’m cozy in my bed, writing up this blog and planning to either sleep or watch one of the four movies from the four-in-one pack I bought for $10 the other day. (Atonement, Elizabeth, Pride and Prejudice, and Jane Eyre… all the newest versions) I think sleep might win at this point.

Thank you, Alexandra! I had lots of fun trying out some new poses; that’s definitely my favorite, too. I can’t wait until I get a bigger belly so I can do some real maternity shots; I LOVE maternity photoshoots.

Wow, I never would’ve guessed you’re wearing the dress backward! It looks great!

And, if you think “Armie Hammer” is a fun name to say, remember that his full name is Armand Hammer, after his great-grandfather or something. Yeah, as in the baking soda. Also he is pretty. Him and Henry Cavill. It should be illegal for guys to be that pretty.

I LOVE this dress!! I’m all for lazy day dresses – they’re perfect and so easy to wear. Plus, you always look cute in them too. 🙂 And congrats on your pregnancy… so excited for you!! Awww!! xo

Jeeze, being pregnant does NOT sound like a picnic so far, haha. At least you’re cozy in bed! Also, I love that you can wear that dress backwards and forwards- that’s definitely handy. And I like the new pose pictures- they definitely ad some interest to the post 🙂

Also, now I was to watch Jane Eyre movies. I’m sooo not feeling productive today, haha.

My goodness! What a cute dress! Love dresses that have great patterns so they’re a cinch to style, like you mentioned. And your lip color is perfection! Hope you feel better! Rest up and enjoy those wonderful movies. Pride & Prejudice and Jane Eyre are such classics. You have amazing taste indeed!

Such a great idea to try wearing this dress backwards. I didn’t even notice! I think it looks so cute and the colors are really fun for summer. You look so pretty!
Sorry to hear that you were feeling sick. Hopefully you’re feeling better now!

Watch Pride & Prejudice asap, it’s such a guilty pleasure of mine! I try to watch it at least once a month. I hope you are feeling much better now from the nausea, that sounds awful 🙁 I hope you are getting lots of rest!

P.S – love the dress, it’s so summery and light, definitely a good choice.
