Bloggers I Love: Alexandra Marie, Into the Woods

If you all have never heard of Alexandra Marie’s blog, Into The Woods, you should probably immediately stop whatever you are doing and visit it. Right now! I have been following Alex for quite a while now, and every time I visit her blog I am just stunned by how gorgeous she is, and how lovely her posts are! She’s such a sweet, positive girl in all of her posts, and her style is to die for! Plus, every image is just a delicious composition of beauty. She has one of those rare blogs that is absolutely timeless, and never ceases to amaze me! I am so excited to feature her today, and get to know her a little better!

1. You have the most amazing sense of retro style. What got you interested in fashion?

Thank you so much! I suppose I’ve been interested in fashion ever since I was about ten years old. My style has undoubtedly evolved quite a bit since then- something about looking at old outfit choices can be so cringe-worthy- haha! Fashion is something I’ve played with for a long time, but I really caught the vintage bug when I was fourteen. Ever since I’ve been experimenting with different styles and eras- it’s so much fun!

2. If you could live in any style era other than the present, what would it be and why?

Definitely the 1950’s! Though, it would be a close tie with the 40’s. Nonetheless, the 50’s gave birth to my all time favorite, Dior’s new look style. Women dressed like ladies- the gloves, hats, pearls- I love it all!

3. What are your favorite pastimes?

Oh my- loaded question- haha! Mostly blogging, and of course running my photography business. I am also a full time student which keeps me busy. In my spare time I like to write a bit- I have a book I have been working on for four years, and I hope to one day have it published!

4. What are your favorite online shops to find the amazing retro and vintage pieces you wear?

This may be the hardest question of all- there are so many lovely shops that I love! Here are a few that I have been following for a while, and some others that are new finds of mine!

6. Who are your style icons?

Audrey Hepburn- I love her classic and timeless style. I also love Zooey Deschanel’s style- so cute!

7. You are always so upbeat and encouraging in your blogging! Do you find that there are aspects of your personality that somehow just don’t make it onto your blog even though you wish they did?

Aw, thank you so much! And a great question! One of the things I try to do is be real on the blog, and hope to have that come through in the photographs. I have such a love for vintage fashion and photography- combining those two things is a total blast, and every minute of it is a thrilling ride. I will say, I am actually a little shy in real life- I have an introverted side, at least until I get to know people- then I think my true personality comes out more. I wouldn’t say I wish that it was something that made it onto my blog though- haha!

8. You’re a gorgeous girl with an obvious gift for everything blogging– do you have any secret talents that we don’t know about (mine’s whistling through my tongue, haha!)?

Haha- thank you so much <3 Let me see… well, since you mention it- I can’t whistle at all – it’s like a handicap or something- lol. However, on a more serious note- I play piano by ear- I haven’t taken a lesson before, so I learn by listening to a song I like and then working it out on the keyboard. I like to compose my own pieces as well- it’s just sort of a relaxing hobby of mine- music means the world to me!

9. What would your perfect day be like?

I would have to say spending the day outdoors on a warm Summer day with people I love- my friends and family. It’s a little random, I know, it’s just what comes to mind 🙂

10. And lastly, what is the best blogging advice you can give, or have been given?

Don’t be closed minded- blogging is a VERY new thing that is still growing and it’s OK to try new things.
