Do you know what I love best about big sunglasses? The fact that they allow me to completely forgo my usual makeup routine and just throw on some red lipstick and be done with it. I am all for going makeup free, but I do always feel like I’m cheating y’all if I’m that lazy while cooking up a blog post, so I rarely go makeup free in pictures. Plus, admit it: it does look better to be waring a bit of foundation (if you need your skin evened out like I do) and some mascara. Photographs are not always kind.

But today, I had to run out the door first thing this morning to do grocery shopping, so I didn’t shower OR put on makeup, and this afternoon when I saw what a gorgeous day it was, I had to take advantage of the sun before my child woke up from his nap, so… red lipstick and sunglasses it is! But the sun inspired me to put something fun on after I got back, and also the fact that this dress is related to something I want to get started — a clothing swap group (akin to Flock Together) for normal/plus-sized girls.

Speaking of which, if you’re in the fashion blogging game, are a more curvaceous size, and want to get involved in said clothing swap group, please do let me know! I know four bloggers who are interested for sure, one who might be, and I’m thinking it’d be good to have maybe… I don’t know, between six and ten girls who can swap between each other. I would like to keep us in the US, though, to keep the shipping costs and times down.

(if you’re curious sizing wise, we go from size 10 to size 20, but we all have clothes in that range that can be swapped! So if you’re somewhere in there and have clothes you think would suit several sizes, down or up, feel free to shoot me an email!)

And once I get a good group together who want to participate, we then have to make decisions like… start a group blog, or simply link to and feature the other looks with that garment on our own blog? Pick a name for the group, or not? I’m leaning more towards picking a group name and starting a group blog, but we’ll see!

And you guys, I have no idea where to even start with this whole group thing. I’m hoping to start it up within the next month, because I’ve been tentatively thinking about this for at least a year (ever since I became aware of Flock Together). I think even if it only ends up being myself and the four others who I know are interested, it will still be fun. We all have fairly unique styles, so seeing how we integrate the same garment into our own closets will be so interesting!Vintage cherry print dress and heart shaped glasses | www.eccentricowl.com

And also, coming up with basic rules (like, how long to keep garments, whether there should be photography standards, stuff like that)… it’s all new to me! But I’m excited to get started on this and get more involved with my fellow bloggers!

I hope you are all having a good Monday! I’m off to deal with my baby, who has been cranky since he woke up, because he’s getting new teeth.
