Welcome to the second installment of twisted fairytales! Today, as you can see by the title, I’m sharing my twisted Beauty and the Beast. Which, more accurately, would be… Beauty (killed the) Beast. I Beauty and the Beast in mind almost immediately when I tried on this gorgeous vintage red rose print Eva dress; what is really more iconic to that fairytale, after all, than the rose? But it wasn’t until I remembered this massive vintage fur coat I rescued from Goodwill that I decided on the twist to give Beauty. I feel as though this concept is a little more apparent once you see all three of the twisted fairytales together in my lookbook (coming either today or on Halloween, I haven’t decided yet!), but you tell me! All I can say is that wandering around in a fully dolled-up look while carrying an axe is one way to boost one’s confidence, whether you intend to go forth and slay a beast or not. Ha!

I have to spend a moment talking about this dress, because as a currently breastfeeding mama I have been searching for things to add to my wardrobe that are, of course, easy to nurse in. You’ll see a collaboration with Lindy Bop coming shortly on that, but I’m always on the lookout for things I can easily feed Irene in, and this dress is one of them! I didn’t realize it when I chose the dress, but it’s the perfect mock-wrap top and it has a good amount of stretch, so nursing is a breeze. I’m absolutely in love with it in every way! I have noticed my style is drifting more towards browns and rusty colors lately, rather than previous years of bright reds and contrasting darks, but I couldn’t resist this one! Not to mention, my entire color scheme for these looks is red, black, and white. Lady V Beauty and the Beast (12 of 37) c3Lady V Beauty and the Beast (33 of 37)Lady V Beauty and the Beast (22 of 37)

I don’t feel as though I’m quite ready for Halloween to be so close upon us yet; it feels like fall has just barely started and yet here we are at what has always been a midway point for me! I have so many more ideas and looks I want to blog about before fall ends, so I had better get on it! I’ve been wanting to bulk up my blog posting schedule to more than once a week anyway. Sometimes I look back at my blogging history, and the daily (or near-daily) posts and reminisce about the time I had then… but I wouldn’t really trade then for now. My life is much fuller with kids and home life, and it’s wonderful.

But what I wouldn’t give for just a little more time…
