Camping! Part one: the road trip, a rock, and some trees

Yesterday, I burst into tears because we had no bread, and then I tried to laugh at myself because I knew it was a stupid thing to cry about… but that only sufficed to make me cry more. Because nobody likes to be laughed at when they’re crying, even if they’re the ones laughing at themselves. (Can you guess what week of the month it is?) Suffice it to say… I have no outfit pictures. What I do have, however, is pictures from my family’s camping trip to Kalaloch Campgrounds! It was one of the most fantastic camping trips I’ve ever had– partly because Mr. Owl got to come along,…

    By The Sea

It’s Mr. Owl and my 5 month anniversary today! Can you believe it? I can’t. It doesn’t feel like it’s been five months… and yet, it feels like we’ve known each other forever. I’m still quite fond of him. On Monday, Mr. Owl and I went to a place called Point No Point to see the lighthouse (and the beach.) I really, really love the sea, and lighthouses, and it was the perfect day for such an outing! The sun was out, the tide was out, and since it was a Monday, the beach was relatively free of people. The Field of Nightmares

Today’s pictures come with a possibly disturbing story. If you are particularly queasy about spiders, I’d suggest you skip the text and just look at the pretty pictures, and don’t– I repeat don’t— even be tempted to read the story behind these pictures! I promise, I’m doing you a service by warning you. Although you do probably want to know that my family is moving again, which is how these pictures came about. This field– or rather, swampy land– is just down the road from the house that my parents and I are moving into. Mr. Owl and I were on a walk to find a good place for outfit pictures…

    Stylin’

I was recently contacted by a website called “Style Says,” which is quite the fun website if you’re a fan of sites like Pinterest, and I was asked to become a featured stylist. I can now upload my outfit pictures to this website, choose similar items (which will unfortunately be more expensive than what I paid for mine, but still similar) to my outfit, and publish that so that you, my lovely followers, can peruse clothes that are alike to the ones I’m not selling. Click here to see my very first featured style! I’m pretty excited about this. It’s just fun, and I’ve always wanted a way to compare…

    The Eccentric and her Owl.

It’s story and picture time! Now that y’all know about my man– who we will call Mr. Owl (thanks to Picco for the nickname) for now– I can share my favorite pictures and a few little adventures we’ve had in the past few weeks. And I can answer all of your questions. First of all, he’s a photographer, amongst other things. So all the really, really good quality pictures… were taken with his camera. But I edited them, and we both had ideas, so really all of our photoshoots are collaborative efforts. I suppose really I should just start at the beginning, since y’all asked the predictable questions (Is he…
