    Friday Chat: The Privileged

I was a bit afraid to publish this post. I hope you all know my heart. Today, I want to pare down and have a chat. (Thus, a picture I posted a little while ago on Instagram with no filters and no makeup, because I think it’s appropriate and I am feeling too sick to do the planned bare-faced, jeans-and-tee shots) I’ve been seeing some interesting comments (and gotten some interesting comments) on blogs lately in regards to having confidence and feeling beautiful, fit, pretty, or what have you, and it’s sparked my general need to rant today. Or, you know, present a more thoughtful blog post. The comments I’ve seen…

Owl dress and Doctor Who Pin

Quick note: Facebook has officially announced that they will be killing the organic post reach for all brands EVEN more. In the article, it is stated that this is in regards to promotional posts, such as giveaways, buy-this-product, or posts that seem to be recycled ads. But, you may still see my posts less, due to the general cut of overall organic post reach. Thanks! Words have always been very important to me.…

I loved reading all of the comments you guys left on the survey, and seeing your choices for what you love, what you want more of, and what you want less of (some of those cracked me up.) Here are some of the stats. Your Favorite Features Style posts came in at the top, thankfully (because how bad would it be if, as a style blog, style posts were not the favorite thing???)! Next in line, surprisingly to me, was Photography Sessions, followed closely (as in, one person…

I know a lot of people don’t really put stock into resolutions. My husband doesn’t. Some people feel as though making resolutions is useless, because you just fail anyway. But I like resolutions. I love having a list of things I want to do better, and then checking off that list as I conquer those things. This year, I thought I’d make 15 resolutions — some easy, some not as easy — because… I’m an organized person and I like things to come in fives or tens. And with it being 2015, well. You get it. So, here are my 15 resolutions for this year.  1. Stick to a style…

When Love is Not a Dream

When my husband and I kissed for the first time, it brought about the sole largest crisis of our relationship. In my case, anyway. Growing up in a more conservative family as a romantic, day-dreaming girl, I had always imagined and vowed that my first kiss would be on my wedding day. As a young woman who read many novels and watched many Austen/Bronte films, I imagined that kissing was a tender, wonderful, breathtaking thing. So, I thought, we would wait through however long it took to date and be engaged, and our first kiss would be incredibly special, a sign of our new life together, almost magical in its…
