    Let It Snow…

Oh my goodness, you guys!!! SNOW. (Okay, so that’s obvious.) I know in some parts of the world people get snow all the time and therefore hate it, but in my part of the world… winter = rain, or clouds, or just misery. Rarely snow. I think last year we got a smattering of snow maybe once, and it wasn’t even pretty snow. It was slushy, gross snow. So to wake up this morning to a winter wonderland… I was pretty excited. Especially because we had planned to take our first little family Christmas card picture today. Everything turned out so perfectly! Suffice it to say, though, this was the…

    Polka dots, roses, and hearts

You guys. This skirt. Can you even deal with how amazing it is? Because I can’t. It is the epitome of romantic and ladylike with its full skirt (which needs no petticoat to fluff this much!) and quilted roses. I just… yeah. I don’t even have words for how much I love this skirt! It’s definitely going to be my Christmas skirt, if I can find an appropriately sparkly/lacy/fancy shirt to go with it! This is one of those clothing items that will work for multiple occasions and remain a classic item no matter what the era’s trends. Plus, it has pockets. What woman doesn’t love pockets in a…

When Love is Not a Dream

When my husband and I kissed for the first time, it brought about the sole largest crisis of our relationship. In my case, anyway. Growing up in a more conservative family as a romantic, day-dreaming girl, I had always imagined and vowed that my first kiss would be on my wedding day. As a young woman who read many novels and watched many Austen/Bronte films, I imagined that kissing was a tender, wonderful, breathtaking thing. So, I thought, we would wait through however long it took to date and be engaged, and our first kiss would be incredibly special, a sign of our new life together, almost magical in its…

    Feeling like a not-so-super mom

I think there always comes a time in any new mom’s life where she feels her first real pang of guilt over something she does as a mother that really isn’t her fault. Whether it’s seeing your child take a fall you couldn’t have predicted and subsequently couldn’t save them from, feeling pressure from other moms to do a certain thing a certain way, or having something happen that you just can’t change… it’s bound to happen to every mom. And maybe not just new moms; moms with any number of kids, any matter of years of experience. I don’t know, I only have one kid and a mere eight…

A New Way to Wear a Scarf

I just got five beautiful new silk scarves from a recent garage-sale-ing trip, and I have been wracking my brain for new ways to wear them, so that I can showcase the gorgeous prints on the scarves. I mean, wearing them as headscarves only goes so far, and only coordinates with so many outfits. Plus, as a headscarf, you can’t see the full prettiness of the scarf. So when I was playing with my outfit this morning, I felt pretty smart for realizing I could wear the scarf like this. I love the way it looks! Especially with this skirt, which is my new favorite. It’s from Oasap, and it…
