Paleo Recipes: Essentials for Breakfast and Life

Today I want to share with you two recipes that are essential, in my opinion, to eating and cooking Paleo. First up is one of my absolute favorite things to eat for breakfast now. Not only is it delicious, but it combines three of my favorite foods — bacon, tomatoes, and avocado — and one food that I hated until I started eating clean — eggs. So, funny story: this morning, I got so stressed out over a picture of an egg I wanted to irritated-pregnant-woman-hormonal-cry about it. See, I have never been a very gifted egg flipper. In all my years of attempting to fry a good egg, they…

Recipe: Hummus with Pine Nuts and Basil

I’ve been thinking for a while that I would love to expand my blog to include more things. Fashion will doubtless always be in the forefront, but I also want to share life in general: recipes, DIY projects, restaurants to visit, places to go, wishlists… etc. So what better way to jump in than with a recipe for the most amazing hummus I’ve ever had? (*ahem* might be tooting my own horn a little bit. Haha!) This recipe was adapted from a basic hummus recipe I found on the internet forever ago, and tweaked to my own personal tastes, with stuff thrown in because it sounded good. So! Here we…

    My Week on Instagram

The two biggest things of the week, obviously: I started writing again (and subsequently kept forgetting descriptive words and just marking my place with “WORD” so that I could go back and replace it. Hopefully I remember to actually do that…) and I went blonde. I am shocked by how big of a difference it made to go blonde! So many people didn’t recognize me. Because of the blonde-ness, I also updated my makeup routine. Which you can see in full here. I’m loving the new colors I can get away with now having blonde hair. It’s amazing how changing your hair color can open up  new possibilities that you wouldn’t have…

The Whole 30: What to read, how to cook, and what to keep in your kitchen.

I did a little diet update yesterday, but the lovely Eliza commented that she’d love to know more about how I even know what to cook and what to keep in my kitchen, so I thought I’d do a more in-depth review of all of the tips and tricks I’ve learned so far. This is going to be a long and detailed post, so get yourself some (healthy) snacks, grab a cup of tea, and maybe whip out a pen and notepad to write anything down that is helpful to you. And feel free to comment with questions! First off, we’ll start with what to read. The first book, It…

Food Update: The Whole 30 Progress

So we are now on day 13 on our Whole 30 adventure, and so far I LOVE it. I have so much more energy, and I feel so much more free to eat without worrying about what the food is going to do to me body or my skin. It’s wonderful! It’s amazing how much better you feel when you are properly nourishing your body. And as you can see, we eat pretty darn well. And we eat a lot more variety than we had before. The entirety of fruits and veggies and meats is open to us, and I’ve been picking out so much that I’d normally pass over.…
