    Four months later…

One year and four months ago, I walked through the door of a coffee shop on my first date with a blue-eyed, dark-haired man with a love for J. R. R. Tolkien and a penchant for dancing to music wherever and whenever he chose. Three weeks after that, I realized I was in love. And a year layer, I married him. It was the best decision I ever made. He is without a doubt the perfect man for me and I cannot imagine anyone better. Happy four months, my love. I could not be happier with anyone else.

    2012: a year in review

Looking back, 2012 was definitely one of the best years of my life, and most of you probably know why, and I cannot wait to see what 2013 brings! I don’t know that I’ve ever done a year in review on my blog, probably because I’m still settling into blogging and style, but I think last year was chock full of great things; events, outfits, general… wonderfulness, and for those of you that are new, I thought I’d share the highlights of my year. I had several of these on my old blog, and I might just repost all of them. During our wedding ceremony, my father-in-law mentioned that I had written a letter to my husband before we were married, and it reminded me that a few precious things didn’t get transferred over when I switched…

    Wedding: Planning on a Budget

First of all: this is the veil I wore for my wedding. I adore it, and I cannot wait to show you how the entire ensemble went together… but I have to wait for wedding pictures to share it all. So, there’s a tidbit for you. 😉 Someone suggested the other day that I do a wedding-planning tips post, and since I’m a huge fan of staying on budget and not overspending on things, it sounded like a fun idea to me. So, for all of you brides-to-be who are overwhelmed by the cost of weddings, or who are on a very tight budget: here are the things I learned…

    My wedding according to Instagram

This was my wedding day. Bits and pieces of it, anyway. It was perfect, in my eyes. 1, 3: Lanterns that we hung everywhere in the sanctuary. 2. The altar. 4. My beautiful, beautiful bouquet! 5. Our rings. 6. Owl cake toppers! 7. A beautiful pie 8. The amazing cake that my aunt made for me 9. Cakes in jars! Me with my wedding-day makeup on. Gosh, I wish I could go back and re-live the wedding part of the day. It was wonderful. I was nervous as heck beforehand, to the point where I might have thrown up if I had eaten anything, but once it came time to…
