    The Woodcutter

Today’s outfit was NOT inspired by this book. But as I was walking out the door, I spotted the book and thought “Oh hey, we match!” so we’ll pretend it was intentional. Really, I just wanted to wear this fantastic cape thing from my darling friend Sarah’s late grandma — she’s the same person who gave me this vest thing. I was actually wearing a different outfit this morning, trying to make a spring skirt work for fall, but there was just something really off about it. The twilight hour

Yesterday my husband and I had an impromptu date to see Godzilla. I hadn’t gotten dressed or done my makeup and hair all day, so once he got home I rushed to get ready in about… fifteen minutes. I’ve seen a few new-mom bloggers who continue to wear dresses with high necks and no way to breastfeed in them, and while I totally get wanting to dress up even for a few hours, it’s just not realistic! I prefer to stay real.…

    Farm Girl

I am basically a farm-girl at heart. I never really think about myself as a country girl, but I did grow up in the country, on a farm… of sorts. If you count having chickens, dogs, cats, an orchard, woods, and a huge garden a farm. But I grew up in the foothills of the Washington coast, which is largely farm area (at least where I live, it is) full of trees that border large fields, farms with quaint red barns and sheep and horses (and lots and lots of chickens), dogs who bark with friendly, curious intent as you walk by, and countless barn cats. And I don’t think…
