    Babies and Hot Air Balloons

The weather last week, you guys! It was SO nice. Asa and I had lots of fun playing outside; I really love that he loves to be outside. We go out and play on the blanket and stare at the sky and the leaves… and I try to ward off the bugs. I think when he gets big enough he’s definitely going to want to explore. I can’t wait for him to discover the different texture outside– grass, moss, dirt (messy, I know..). I have realized that while I really love hot weather, I only love it when it’s hot outside. If I’m in a car or indoors, I hate…

    Goals of a New Mom

Today my goals are simple, and I only have three: 1. Stay dressed — this might not seem too hard, but believe me: when you have a newborn, you only get about 5 solid hours of sleep a night, and your house is almost always cold, it’s very tempting to stay in the softest, warmest pair of pajamas you can find and veg out watching Sherlock on Netflix. Valentine’s Day Lookbook: Retro

My husband bought me this dress last year for Valentine’s Day, and I was so thrilled with it… but disappointed because this particular dress runs larger, and the medium didn’t fit me, which meant we had to return it and wait for the smaller size. So I didn’t get to wear it for Valentine’s day. And since then, I was only able to wear it twice before I got pregnant. So I am really excited that it fits again, and it might be the winner for what I’m actually going to wear out on our dinner date tomorrow! I mean… it’s just such a perfect dress! Twirly, gingham, heart pockets,…

    Valentine’s Day Lookbook: Casual

Today’s post is going to be short; my usually complacent baby has been going through some sleeping and eating changes — he eats more and sleeps less — so I’ve had very little time to do much but feed, hold, and change him… and sleep when he’s sleeping. You always know you’ll be tired after you have a baby, but you never realize that means you’ll be staying in bed until 11am because you only catch 2-3 hours of sleep at once, no matter what time of the day it is, which makes for much shorter days when you also have work to do and a house to clean. Plus,…

    Determination

You guys have no idea how difficult it was to take pictures today. I mean, getting out of bed is hard. Getting dressed in real clothes is a victory. And putting on my own shoes? That, my dears, is almost impossible. I mean, when you’re only six days away from your due date, it’s a miracle when you see your feet, much less reach them. But after the struggle of getting clothes and shoes on, I triumphantly came downstairs only to realize that 1. it was raining, and 2. the tripod is in the car. Which my husband drove to work. Still, I was determined. After all, this might be…
