• 30 Day Challenges

    Instagram Outfits

After taking an inventory of my closet (yes, I do that…) I realized that of the 35 (plus… cuz I bought more like… I shouldn’t have…) skirts in my closet, I wear… oh, probably about ten of them in rotation. Given, some of them are not year-round skirts (wool, or very light summery fabric), but for the most part probably 75% of my skirts are skirts I should be able to wear right now. So I decided to do a 30-days-of challenge that I may actually finish! Skirts are to me what jeans are to most people– comfortable, easy to style, flexible, appropriate for most occasions. I’ve had a…

    Stylin’

I was recently contacted by a website called “Style Says,” which is quite the fun website if you’re a fan of sites like Pinterest, and I was asked to become a featured stylist. I can now upload my outfit pictures to this website, choose similar items (which will unfortunately be more expensive than what I paid for mine, but still similar) to my outfit, and publish that so that you, my lovely followers, can peruse clothes that are alike to the ones I’m not selling. Click here to see my very first featured style! I’m pretty excited about this. It’s just fun, and I’ve always wanted a way to compare…

    Dy oe.

So you might have guessed from the title that a few of my keys are still broken. Or you might have just stared at it and wondered what “dy oe” meant… but I like to think that my readers are cleverer than that. I’ve regained most of my keys, although the very important ones, like “a” and “n”  and “f” still refuse to work. You never notice how much you use certain keys until they no longer work. I’m getting quite proficient at only using my on-screen keyboard when I have to. And also at using words that mostly don’t require my broken keys. SO. The above is my first…

    Two miracles in one day.

Miracle one: I got dressed after all. Miracle two: I’m wearing jeans. And I like them. Crazy, huh? Details: Cardigan($5), shirt($3.99), belt($0.99) and jeans($3.25) thrifted; Shoes($20) and necklace($8), Target; Headband($3), Fred Meyer. Approximate outfit cost: $44.23 The last time I wore jeans, I wore this cardigan. AND this headband. And I was 10 pounds heavier.  I am much more comfortable in my skin now, and I like these jeans a lot better.  Possibly because I was looking at these pictures and thinking “oh, I look skinny!” (Don’t overreact. Skinny, to me, isn’t stick-thin. It’s just healthily curvaceous as opposed to overweight and pudgy. So there. ;)) I even did my makeup. I…

    Saturday’s Fashion: a look back.

I’ve been posting my outfit pictures since January, and every weekend I  have posts in which you get to vote for your favorite. Now, I had a purpose to that- I was going to do a monthly post with your favorites from each week… but… um… as you probably know, that never happened. And now that I’m thinking about it (I was updating my outfit archives) and looking over my past outfits, I thought it might be fun for us to see how my style has evolved over the past months. I went from being a little unsteady in my fashion roots, still searching for a style that was really…
