Some days, a girl just has to go full retro. This skirt was in my pile of vintage to sell, but um… it might not be going back in. I originally wore it today just to grab an outfit shot for the shop (feedback from you guys officially says mostly garment-alone pictures, but with one outfit shot to see how it looks on a person), but then, you know… I have a huge weakness for plaid. All the fancy things
You guys, I think buying that one hat has started something serious. I’ve been getting up every morning thinking “Okay, what should I wear on my head with my outfit?” I have such a plethora of hats, scarves, and flower crowns now that it really isn’t that hard to pick something that goes well, and I LOVE it. As you can see, it definitely pushes my style more towards retro/vintage, which is something I’ve never been able to resist. Red and Plaid
I am absolutely in love with this outfit. Probably because I adore red, and there’s red everywhere. Lips, cardigan, shoes, hearts on the tights (the back of them). These are the tights I wore for my wedding, and I WISH they were a little better constructed because I adore them. They’ve got runs everywhere, but I don’t even care. I also very much love the necklace/collar, but I’m afraid to wear it because it’s an antique and the pearls fall off a lot. I’d love to get it restored someday, because it’s a beautiful piece. Wandering the corn
According to Mr. Owl, I looked too much like Christmas in this outfit because of the red and green in/general plaid-ness of the skirt. And now that I think about it, this is sort of a Christmass-y outfit, stars and all. But I have discovered that my wardrobe does not cover all four seasons. I’m either wearing Winter or Spring, and the other two seasons… sort of just have to scrounge around for whatever weather-appropriate wear is available regardless of its seasonal colors. Today’s outfit inspiration comes to you from the ever lovely Annebeth of Styling Dutchman. She is one of my absolute favorite fashion bloggers, and I can always find inspiration when I read her blog!
