    Polka dots, roses, and hearts

You guys. This skirt. Can you even deal with how amazing it is? Because I can’t. It is the epitome of romantic and ladylike with its full skirt (which needs no petticoat to fluff this much!) and quilted roses. I just… yeah. I don’t even have words for how much I love this skirt! It’s definitely going to be my Christmas skirt, if I can find an appropriately sparkly/lacy/fancy shirt to go with it! This is one of those clothing items that will work for multiple occasions and remain a classic item no matter what the era’s trends. Plus, it has pockets. What woman doesn’t love pockets in a…

All Ways are the Queen’s Ways

OH MY GOODNESS YOU GUYS. FAVORITE. COSTUME. EVER. Sorry for the all-caps, but seriously. I didn’t expect this to come out as good as it did; I was really struggling with what to wear from my collection of red things — this, or this, or this, or this — and I finally decided the lace dress worked the best with these tights. But I still wasn’t that enthralled with it; I’m kind of over the shorter length of dresses on me with heels… and I was also missing some pattern to tie in the black shoes and black belt. And I thought… you know, this skirt has always reminded me…

    Take Me to the Zoo

Focusing more on writing this week has been interesting so far. I don’t want to say too much, because I plan to talk about it in my vlog at the end of the week, but I’ve been re-reading Sweet Ireland Air so that I can get back into the characters and finish the book… and I’ve realized I’m very much not a collaborator. I’ll expound on that more in my vlog later… but let’s just say it becomes a surprisingly touchy subject when my husband (out of love for ideas and excitement) starts to suggest ways I can change the story. But I’ve never been very good at taking someone…

How to wear a red skirt forever.

Well, that was an accidental week-long break from the blog! Last week was really busy, though, after spending the entire (very rainy) weekend up at Kalaloch camping. I didn’t get to clean our house (which severely needs it!) at all, and going back to work after a weekend camping meant I didn’t get much rest. Plus, it rained all week. I really, really  need to get us some internet at our house. And a new charger cord for my computer, so I can actually use it again. Y’know. Little things. We’ve been married for almost six months (six months on Saturday!) and we don’t have internet yet. And really,…

    Remix, rewear, repeat.

It’s official: I am in love with this skirt. I don’t even care that I just wore it, and with polka dots no less; I can foresee many, many ways to mix this with all of my current wardrobe items. It was the best $2.50 I ever spent. Love. I don’t really have much else to say today! But the sun is shining, the weekend is almost here, and life is good. Other than the fact that I don’t have a car. But even that is fine! I get to drive my in-laws’ car, which is way nicer than mine (the window rolls down! The back windshield wiper works! The…
