Firmoo, part two: Stripes, bikes, and tortoishell frames

This is the other pair of frames that Firmoo sent me. I LOVE them. They might replace my old glasses as my daily frames, because they’re just so perfect! The frames are super pretty, and I think they fit my face perfectly, and they’ve got that style reminiscent of the 50’s, which I absolutely adore. Perfection! These are the glasses I was looking for when I first updated my frames, and got talked out of getting. Of course, the place I was looking didn’t have frames nearly as amazing as these ones! In other news, my birthday is tomorrow! I’m so, so excited! I cannot wait to find out what…

    Jean jackets and floral dresses

You guys, dare I say it? Yes. I dare. SPRING IS HERE! Given, it’s still unpleasantly cold (say, upper 40’s and damp;t he dampness makes it unpleasant) in the morning, but it has been full-on sunny and sixty in the afternoon, and I love it! It’s making me long for summer already, though. Is that bad? I got this jean jacket the other day after seeing a few different lovely bloggers sporting jean jackets, and I’m so glad I did! I don’t even know how to describe what my spring style is going towards– floral, maybe more modern, with lots of tied-up shirts and high-waisted skirts. It’s definitely changing, but…

    Floral pants for spring

I chose this shirt along with a dress from a giveaway I won from Shannon Hearts/The Jean Girl, and I wasn’t actually sure if I would like the length. Usually, these types of shirts don’t fit over my hips if they fit the rest of me, but this one is flared just barely enough to fit and skim perfectly without looking too blousy! I love it. Especially because it goes perfectly with these floral pants! I adore them, but this is the first shirt I’ve found that I really love with them! I’ve been trying to find new places around our house to take outfit pictures, and this little glen…

    Summer Wishes

Under the light of full disclosure, I only wore these sandal wedges for half the day. See, when we left our house, it was sunny and windless, and while not necessarily warm, at least it wasn’t cold. But then, of course, I had the brilliant idea to take photos downtown by the water where it’s naturally colder and windier, and basically… froze my toes off. After we were done, I immediately changed into a nice warm coat and some comfy flats! Ah, the things we do for outfit pictures! My lovely husband endured the cold with me, thank goodness. I’m getting used to taking pictures on my own, but there’s definitely…

When life gives you lemons… make a dress! And then burst into tears.

I posted a little teaser yesterday of a DIY project I had done… and here it is! I saw this fabric the other day when I was shopping with my mom at the fabric store, and it reminded me of the lemon print dresses that I’ve seen mentioned around the blogosphere lately. And since I’m pretty sure most incarnations of that dress are well over my budget, I decided to make my own version. I am pretty happy with how it turned out! I tend to really hate sewing, so when I say that the pattern is easy, you can bet it’s not going to be too complicated. And when I say…
