Skincare during pregnancy, general routine, and a few tips

I’ve been meaning to do a skincare post for a while, but somehow just never got around to it until now! I am no stranger to having skin issues, as you can see! The left is me with makeup on two years ago, edited to make the breakout seem better than it was. The right is me a few weeks ago (I look the same now, I promise) with no makeup on and no editing done. And I’m pretty sure I had also just woken up, ha! Suffice it to say, though, my skin has drastically improved in the last few years. First off, I have had a few people…

    Updated skincare regimen

After a long stint of using BeautyMint – which I still would highly recommend if you want an easy, efficient skincare set that you don’t have to think about – I’ve decided to branch out and try some different products. As much as I like BeautyMint products, I did have a problem with how unevenly the products ran out. Without fail, the cleanser always ran out long before anything else. I can be a somewhat sporadic skincare user, but I did use everything (except the SPF) pretty equally. Beauty Mint: An update.

I thought I’d do a follow-up post on the skincare I’ve been using: Beauty Mint. A little rundown, for those of you that don’t know what Beauty Mint is or didn’t read my last post about it: Beauty Mint is a subscription brand of skincare where you take a little quiz about your skin (age, problem areas, lifestyle, etc.) and are given a personalized set of four or five products to use. Thursday’s Adventure: Skincare.

First of all, I should say I am not being paid by any company to write this. It is all out of my own desire to share good skincare, and nobody told me to write this, or paid me to write this. Although, y’know, the latter would have been nice. 😉 So today is a little different from normal, because it’s not an adventure Mr. Owl and I have had in the last week. Rather, it’s an adventure (or maybe you’d just call it an experience… or experiment… or… whatever…) I’ve had over the last three weeks… with skincare. I generally have a very hard time finding skincare products that work…

I may have tasted my skincare products.

Just FYI: This post is going to be extremely long, as I’ve taken a bunch of pictures and I wanted to include how to use the products as well as review them. A long time ago, I was turned on to the whole natural skincare products by Burt’s Bees, starting with the Citrus Facial Scrub. I really loved it because it exfoliated my skin without drying it out, unlike every other product I’d used. Unfortunately, while it did make my skin very smooth (and smelled like something you could eat), it didn’t really help much. Because, unbeknownst to me at the time, I was allergic to sugar, which is one…
