    Easter

I hope everyone had a great Easter! My day was spent with both sides of the family, taking lots and lots of pictures of everyone; I got to photograph my cousin’s adorable little girl again (first set of pictures here!), and I took pictures of my parents that I can’t wait to share, and a few family pictures. It was so much fun! I already knew I loved to photograph people, but yesterday reminded me how much. I found this dress on Friday and totally fell in love with it. My mom used to make me holiday dresses every year when I was little, so I’ve gotten into the habit…

    Burgundy, mustard, and a skull

Do you ever have one of those outfits where as soon as you put it on, you just feel absolutely beautiful? I hope you all do. Because those outfits are the best. This is one of them, for me! I had been eying this dress from Target’s maternity section for quite a while based solely on the color, but the nearly-$30 price tag deterred me from ever trying it on, as did the obviously body conscious silhouette. Love and Fall Leaves

On Sunday, my husband and I went in search of some good fall trees to shoot photos, and we found the perfect location in the parking lot of a school close to where I grew up. They have the most gorgeous red and yellow trees right now! Oh my goodness, I could have died. And in a moment of rarity, I let my husband do the picture-taking. I’m so picky about pictures, and I definitely need to learn to relax and let him do his thing, because he is an excellent photographer. I’m just a control freak when it comes to taking outfit pictures, ha! It was a lot of…

    Weddings and Memories

This weekend, one of my best friends got married in Colorado Springs. I met her back when I was 17 and my dad had a job which moved us around the country, and we lived in New Mexico for nine months. She and I pretty much immediately hit it off right away over an impromptu session of singing Phantom of the Opera, and since then have been the best of friends. I could not be more thrilled for her! I used to reassure her that yes, one day she would get married. It was a great satisfaction to watch her do so, and say “I told you so!”  She was a beautiful…

    On blogging and confidence

A couple of years ago, I was a girl with no idea how to dress herself. I wore jeans every day that I hated on myself, shirts in long proportions that never seemed to flatter or be the right length, and sweatshirts because really, that’s just what all my friends wore and I wasn’t brave enough to break the style mold of that clique. The only time I really felt pretty was on Sundays or for special occasions when I could dress up and nobody would ask me why I looked so fancy. But then one week in December, I started following a few fashion blogs (Selective Potential, What I…
