    Owls on parade

This was one of those days where I felt extremely lazy when I woke up, and I wanted to wear my new red pants. So I didn’t shower, I wore the makeup I’d slept in, and put on some red lipstick and a hat in hopes nobody would notice how lazy I had been. I think it worked. And this is one of those outfits that I rarely post, for two reasons: one, it doesn’t quite fit my preferred aesthetic of retro/1940’s at all, and two, it shows off my hips, which I am not fond of. Don’t get me wrong, in person I feel just fine wearing skinny jeans,…

30 Days of Dresses: Playing Favorites

This is what I wore for my birthday. I nearly chose to wear a skirt instead and take a break from the dress challenge, but then I remembered my favorite dress, and how it goes well with my favorite cardigan and my favorite shoes, and there you have it! All around, my favorites. I think my 30 Days of Dresses might turn into more like 20 Days of Dresses. I definitely have at least 30 dresses, but I’m getting to the point where the ones I have left are dresses I feel like I’ve worn recently– before the challenge started– and also, I am getting bored of my closet. {Thrifted}: dress (9.99) and cardigan ($5.99); {Target}: Shoes (old); {Made} Necklace (who knows…) Since I missed a post yesterday (due to the fact that these pictures were on Mr. Owl’s camera at his house, and not in my computer where they belong), this is day four of the 30 Days of Dresses. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a day five picture, but that’s okay, because it was boring anyway. If you want to see the rest of this weekend’s dresses, check my Facebook page daily! They’ll be there. 😉 Also: my birthday is in seven days. Gah! I can’t believe it! I don’t even know what I want. Other than, you…

    Austen

Mr. Owl says I look like a hippie in this dress. A cute hippie, but still a hippie. I told him he’d just have to deal with it because I like this dress and it reminds me of something a Bennet might wear. Speaking of Mr. Owl, we went to a used  bookstore yesterday and he found me the best books ever: The Hobbit, and The Fellowship of the Ring. Not only are they the best because, y’know, Lord of the Rings, but also because they match the Two Towers and Return of the King copies I found at a thrift store and hadn’t been able to match. I’m exceedingly, nerdily excited…

    When life is interrupted.

You have probably noticed by now that when I plan things, they usually don’t happen quite on schedule. Like the writing challenge blog that is supposed to be updated every Monday… but I have yet to update once. Or the camping trip recap that never really happened. Or today’s tutorial that isn’t actually here. Yet. I tend to do all of my blogging in the morning hours, and I didn’t think about the fact that I have to leave for work in… 57 minutes… which isn’t enough time to get a tutorial done. (Or… well, it’s not really a tutorial, more of an ideas post, with a few little how-tos…
