    Owl and the Boy

I have finally, FINALLY attacked the pile of vintage waiting to be sold in my house, you guys! So with much excitement, I can finally release the link for my little vintage corner of the internet. Right now, it’s all skirts; I have a few more things to add, but you know how it goes. Busy mom, baby on hand… Apparently, there’s a lot of blue! Lots of plaid, lots of floral, along with a few pretty, simple a-line skirts that would be great basics! And I’ll be uploading more soon! And, they’re all $25 or under. So, you know. Let that sweeten the deal for you. So have a…

    One jumpsuit two ways

So this is a garment that has my family and friends split on whether it’s good or terrible, and I confess I tried it on at the thrift store because it looked crazy and I was going to make fun of it. My dad loves it. My mom and my husband think it’s weird and ugly. And I mean… jumpsuits? I have always been firmly on the “Definitely not!” side of that argument. I used to think only babies should wear onesies (that’s what it is, basically. A grown-up onesie.) Besides, how do you perform basic bodily functions in them? Of smiling

I have never liked smiling for pictures. And by smiling, I mean… showing teeth. I always felt self-conscious about it because I thought it made my face look chubby. In fact, I’ve never really liked to be photographed by anyone except for myself and one or two trusted — professional — photographers. Even now, I tend to give a close-lipped smile, or just generally try to look pleasant, for others taking photographs or myself when I’m doing blog photos. But I want to change that. Because I love seeing other bloggers smiling. Who doesn’t want to see someone happy? In particular, I’ve been really inspired by Alex of Into The…

    Guest Post: October Rebel

Hello, I’m Anna of October Rebel. I’d like to thank Kristina for inviting me to post on her blog, and I wish her all the best in her adventures in parenting. It’s no secret I get a lot of my clothes from thrift shops. All great thrifters have their own system for successful shopping. I loved Kristina’s Thrifting Vintage: a few tips for finding and dating vintage clothes from December. I don’t consider myself a great thrifter, but I have a system of my own that keeps me focused in the hectic and confusing environment of the thrift store. These are the guidelines that make thrifting and “vintaging” easier for me:…

    Slowing Down

This outfit marks the last one that I will be wearing with heels. Sadly, as I mentioned in my last post, I discovered that it totally stresses my husband out that I’ve been wearing high heels while pregnant (because I fell down… in this outfit, right after I finished taking outfit pictures. Scraped up my knees, bled on the tights — thank goodness they’re red — and scuffed one of the sleeves of the dress), and lately I’ve also finally been feeling some harsher pregnancy effects, like my hips being out of whack and the groin soreness getting worse and worse. So, goodbye to heels until sometime after January! I…
