    Of hats

If you’ve liked my page on Facebook or follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that on Saturday I got to meet my first blogger ever. It seems like most of the blogger meet ups I ever see are… not in Washington, and I tend to be pretty shy about talking about my blog to most people. So I’ve never met a fellow blogger. (Well, okay, I have a cousin and a niece who have blogs, but they’re family and that’s different.) But ever since I started up the Washington Bloggers page, I’ve realized that 1. there are so many awesome Washingtonian bloggers around, and 2. I totally need to meet…

The 70’s called: they think I’m fabulous.

I have a confession to make: I was absolutely terrified to wear this in public. Don’t get me wrong: I ADORE this dress (kimono, caftain, 1970’s “At Home Wear” from Sears (that’s what the tag says) whatever it is) and I  have no issues swanning around in it at home. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’ll be my go-to wear when I’m pregnant enough to feel like a whale. It’s going to fit me the entire way through. But in public? I mean… how many women under 70 do you see wearing a garment like this? Ever?  In Washington, that number is approximately… like… one. Me. It took all I…

    Not Your Grandma’s Dress

Guys, it happened. I have finally broken down and decided to keep one of the dresses from my shop, and it’s all Gee’s fault. You see, I have had this dress for ages, and I rarely wear it. But the fabric feels so nice, and the pattern and colors are gorgeous so I hung onto it for EVER  until I finally decided… I never wore it, I’d put it in the shop. But then today, as I was trying to decide what to wear, Gee posted a picture on Instagram wearing THIS DRESS. So I put mine on to show her we had the same vintage dress, and fell in…

Bloggers I Love: Mess of A Dreamer Design

I dropped the ball last month and totally forgot to do a featured blogger (oops!) but this month I am SO excited to introduce you all to one of the loveliest vintage bloggers I know, and a lovely internet/blog friend of mine who happens to share my name: Kristi of Mess of a Dreamer Design. She’s a gorgeous girl with a wonderful personality and a perfect vintage closet that I would love to raid.   **1. When did you start blogging, and why?** I started blogging last summer. Your blog was the first I started reading and between yours and others I stumbled across, I was just so inspired by everyone’s…

    Black Roses

This dress totally does not show up as green as it is! I absolutely love the color in real life; it’s an emerald-turquoise color that just reminds me of spring and fresh greenery. But my camera’s settings won’t pick up the color for some reason. I cleaned out my entire wardrobe (dresser items included) yesterday after re-reading October Rebel’s awesome post about cultivating a successful wardrobe, and I realized something: out of the 55 dresses I own (not counting the ones I took out for the “wear a few ways and see if I want to keep them” pile), I only regularly wear about five of them. I think it’s…
