Budget Whole30: week one recap + money saving tips

Well, I’m through my first week on the Whole30, and I thought it’d be a great time to talk about budget Whole30 tips. Since I am all about saving money and making dollars stretch, plus I feel as though there might be a stigma around eating Paleo so far as grocery bills go — mainly that it’s super expensive and possibly a bit snobbish — and I’d love to make it more approachable for people who are like me. As in, people who literally cannot afford to buy organic food like… ever. But first, let’s go through a recap of the week! I think I may have picked the worst…

Whole30 Pregnancy + Maternity Fitness Log

Tomorrow I am starting what will hopefully be my second complete Whole30 since Asa was born — but the big difference between this one and that will be, obviously, that I’ll be doing the Whole30 while pregnant! Like, really pregnant. And I am hoping that this will continue into the rest of my pregnancy being a Whole30 pregnancy. In the last few years, I have recognized in myself a tendency to be an all-or-nothing type; I either stick to the rules 100%, or I drop it altogether. A Paleo Story (And an outfit with a cape)

Most of you know that I started eating mostly Paleo around the time that I got pregnant. I did a Whole30 and loved it, and then found out I was pregnant, and then had some mild repercussions from eating dairy and wheat, and basically cut most non-Paleo foods from my diet for the majority of my pregnancy. And I believe that’s why I had such a good pregnancy– as long as I was eating Paleo, I had no heartburn, no trouble sleeping, no grogginess in the morning, no back problems, no constipation, no queasiness, no stomach aches, no headaches, no swelling… none of those pesky issues that I’ve always heard…

Food Update: The Whole 30 Progress

So we are now on day 13 on our Whole 30 adventure, and so far I LOVE it. I have so much more energy, and I feel so much more free to eat without worrying about what the food is going to do to me body or my skin. It’s wonderful! It’s amazing how much better you feel when you are properly nourishing your body. And as you can see, we eat pretty darn well. And we eat a lot more variety than we had before. The entirety of fruits and veggies and meats is open to us, and I’ve been picking out so much that I’d normally pass over.…

    Health Updates: The Whole 30

Recently, I read a post by Jessica of What I Wore about The Whole 30. She recapped the experience from the benefits to how she ate and even some exercise she did while doing The Whole 30, and it got me keenly interested in this lifestyle change. I am not going to call it a diet, because really… it’s not a diet. It’s a change of life. A change of what you eat. A choice to put healthy food in your body and leave less-healthy foods by the wayside. I have been looking for this sort of information and backup for a really, really long time. It’s the kind of…
