    You’re a Hoot

This weekend, my husband and I are going to start in on another short film, this time just for fun. He’s had this idea to do a Red Riding Hood story for a while, but since we have no deadlines it’s just been simmering on a back burner and we’ve been procrastinating. But he wants to start making monthly short films, so hopefully we’ll be getting into the habit of filming more often! As always, I’m in charge of makeup and costumes. My niece, who will be Red Riding Hood, already has an amazing hooded cape we can use, but I’ve got to find the rest of her outfit as…

    Seaside Adventures

{Romy} Dress: $25; {Target} Shoes: $6 {Forever 21} Ring: $3.80 {Thrifted} Cardigan: $5.99 I am back! This weekend was a very busy one for Mr. Owl and I. On Saturday, the day these pictures were taken, we shot some engagement pictures of the moment he proposed to her, which was… probably the weirdest thing I’ve ever done, since we had to sort of pretend we were just hanging out and then suddenly take pictures from far away… but it was also a very sweet moment. I felt a bit like an intruder watching them and taking pictures of the proposal, but they were happy (she said yes), and it was…

    Belated

Lo and behold, I remembered I had an outfit I hadn’t posted on the blog yet: this was one of my 30 Days of Dresses outfits that I wasn’t too fond of when I wore it (and it’s still not my favorite. But obviously I like it enough to put it up) so I never did a blog post about it. Actually, I remember hating all of the pictures when I looked through them the first time. But now that it’s been over a month (they’re from April 21st! I can’t believe that’s already a month ago), I found a few that I liked. I also realized that I never…

    St. Patrick’s Day.

So, as you probably guessed by the title, this is what I wore for St. Patrick’s day. I didn’t want to go overboard with all-green (I could have. I’ve got green tights, this skirt, and a few green sweaters… or I just bought green pants), and this skirt originally came with a pink belt, so I had to wear the pink tights. This skirt is also part of tomorrow’s tutorial on how to shop like a genius. (Yes. I am calling myself a genius. y’know. Not that I’m vain or anything. Hehe.) I won’t spoil it for you, but this and three other skirts were part of a  pretty smart…

If you turn your head any further, you’ll break your neck.

In full disclosure, this is not what I wore today until about an hour ago. I had this dress on most of the day, and while I wasn’t very fond of the way I had styled it, I got stared at by pretty much everyone in the grocery store– and one old man turned his head and watched me until I was completely behind him. It was weird. It made me feel like maybe I had something on my face. So I think these pictures prove that my summer tan had no intention of staying. Not that I really had a summer tan (I did have tan-lines, if you can believe…
