The Pretty Dress Company Tartan for Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve! I am now applying for the part of Mother Christmas. šŸ˜‰ When I realized that this vintage 1970s plaid cape matched my dream dress from The Pretty Dress Company in Tartan, IĀ had to put them together. This morning we woke up to a delightfully frosty (and freezing) morning. What better time to properly photograph a dress I’d been dreaming of for ages than now? I have realized that, despite some financial hardships, this year has been remarkably nice to me so far as finding a lot of dream pieces. There’s the Collectif Pearl coat, several Miss Candyfloss Dresses, some BAIT shoes… this year I have learned to…

The Collectif Pearl Coat || Kristina’s Coat of Dreams

I first saw the Collectif Pearl Coat on Miss Victory Violet about six years ago. And immediately, I wanted it. As a curvier gal, it’s generally impossible to find true vintage princess cut coats that are my size – not because they don’t exist, but because they get snapped upĀ so fast. For a few years I dreamed about buying it, and then the Pearl fell away from my memory as I made-do with other coats I’d gathered along the way. As you all…

You see, I had just finally come to terms with the fact that my absolute favorite vintage coat was never going to fit again, and I had listed it for sale. This coat was one I had kept in my closet for six years. I had found it before ever having kids, on one of our first day trips as a married couple. Not only was it nostalgic, it was everything I had ever wanted in a coat. Plaid, princess cut, hooded, basically perfect. But my body has changed and it was time to let go of…

Comfortable Vintage Clothing || Simplicity Dress-Ups

This dress has the cutest label. It is called a “Simplicity Dress-Up” and I wish I could find more out about the label! So far all my google searches only bring up dress patterns. Regardless, it’s a beautiful dress and is in absolutely pristine vintage condition! I am wondering if it was handmade and the label was included with the pattern, as I have heard they used to do that. While I was trying to style this dress today, I was stumped. I had a hat I thought would match the pink stripes perfectly, but when I tried it on, it just didn’t work. Neither did my pink brooch and…
