    Dressember 2013

Yesterday, as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, I came across this post from Cut and Chic vintage, and it sparked my interest. I have been thinking about more ways to utilize blogging in positive ways, so I did a little more research about it. The campaign she posted about is called Dressember, and it is an awesome way to use an interest in fashion to impact the world for good. For the entire month of December, women everywhere can wear a dress every day of the month to raise money and awareness in alignment with International Justice Mission that will help rescue victims of slavery, sex trafficking, and…

    Where the wild roses grow

I think I am now addicted to head accessories, you guys. Wearing the one hat has just led to this feeling that no outfit is quite complete without something on my head. And I love it, because it’s also pushing my style back towards the more retro feel (and sometimes full-out 1950’s) that I really love.I’ve always had this huge struggle with settling into just one style, mostly because I look at other bloggers and think “Oh, I love her sense of style, maybe I should try that!” But this week I’ve realized that I just feel the best when I’m dressed in something that looks very retro, regardless of…

    Owl Love You Forever

I made an album on Facebook yesterday called “Crazy Thrifted Buys” because yesterday at the thrift store, I bought three things that my husband would undoubtedly roll his eyes at: this vintage 70’s gown(which I adore regardless), this early 60’s shift (which is just random and I couldn’t resist), and the dress I am wearing… which was once a kind of hideous 80’s romper. DIY post will be forthcoming later. But you guys, the more pregnant I get, the heavier my addiction to pure vintage craziness grows. I see things on the rack and think “Oh, that looks insane, I’m going to try it on!” I just don’t show you…

As I get more and more pregnant, I’ve been searching high and low through my closet and normal stores for good items to wear that aren’t specifically maternity. As I have mentioned, while it’s really fun to realize yes, I can finally wear maternity clothes… they’re expensive, and a lot of them are kind of boring. And now, as I’m nearing five months pregnant and I can no longer button pants or wear fitted-waist dresses, what do I do? Well, if you’re like me and you don’t have a lot of money, plus don’t want a closet full of clothes that are useless after you have the baby… read on!…

Green Florals and a Baby Owl

Today has been such a rollercoaster of emotions! Good ones. Even the bad ones were good. This morning I realized it takes me 40 minutes just to wake up after the alarm goes off, and about 45 to fully get out of  bed. I don’t know what happened, but after I got married I quit being a morning person. And then I got pregnant, and the baby basically makes me throw up if I get up before seven. It’s not a morning person either. But I’ve had some GREAT news that I can’t quite share online yet, so that made it a really lovely day. Plus, I always like Mondays…
