Today, my mind has struck blank. I really wanted to film a makeup tutorial this morning, but one thing after another went wrong, and I just wasn’t feeling it. And then I loved taking the outfit pictures (and I LOVE this outfit) but now that I’m sitting down to write a post, I have nothing. You know you’re a mom blogger when… …you immediately go inside and put your hair up after you’ve taken outfit pictures because the baby will try to eat it otherwise. … you wipe off your lipstick five minutes later because the baby smeared it everywhere. … there are food and milk stains on your skirt and you don’t even care because at least you’re dressed. … you only wear clothes that can be easily washed, bent over in, sat down in, and have enough fabric to cover if little hands start pulling on things. … you look forward to nap time because it means you can get out the camera…

The Nerdy Owl
There are several things about today that make me incredibly happy. First, this dress. It has owls and bunnies and roses all over it, which are a few of my favorite things; it’s yellow, which is swiftly becoming my favorite color, and I am pretty sure that it will be working with me through every single season. It’s the perfect year-round dress. (My only complaints are that it’s quite staticky because of the fabric, which probably wouldn’t bother most people but I hate getting shocked, and it’s fitted enough of a top that I can’t quite lift my arms up all the way. Red Riding Hood
Happy Halloween! Here’s the last installment of my closet-costume characters, and even though she technically doesn’t have red hair and also she has a hood, I’m pretty happy with this one! It’s raining buckets today, so I had to wear something appropriately warm for when we go out trick-or-treating later, and this cape definitely does the trick! Although Mr. Owl is possibly going as Brand from the Goonies, because that’s who he decided to be for the work costume contest today… and he really wants me to go as an 80’s girl. But uh… yeah. OH MY GOODNESS YOU GUYS. FAVORITE. COSTUME. EVER. Sorry for the all-caps, but seriously. I didn’t expect this to come out as good as it did; I was really struggling with what to wear from my collection of red things — this, or this, or this, or this — and I finally decided the lace dress worked the best with these tights. But I still wasn’t that enthralled with it; I’m kind of over the shorter length of dresses on me with heels… and I was also missing some pattern to tie in the black shoes and black belt.
