    Twanoh State Park

I apologize ahead of time because this is going to be a REALLY photo-heavy post. We took these pictures right before I re-dyed my hair, and I was too impatient (as always) to share them before I shared my new haircolor. I had nearly forgotten about them! But I was sick yesterday, and I’m lazy today, so here we are, finally. I’ll try to keep it down with the pictures, but… a few weeks ago, we had this fall adventure in a gorgeous park, and I love so many of the pictures… so it’ll be hard. Twanoh State Park is really close to where we’re currently living, and we’ve driven…

    Transitioning

One of the reasons I try to blog every day is so that I actually get dressed every day. I’m not going to lie: if you don’t see a blog post, that means I’m spending the day in my yoga pants and this tee shirt. But recently, my husband jokingly said “One of these days, I’m going to throw away your yoga pants” and I realized it’s nice for him to see me actually dressed every day… and it’s good for me, too. When I’m dressed, I feel a little bit more motivated to do things around the house; tidy up, get dinner ready on time, be generally more productive……

    Bewitching

Today, the weather is that perfect misty gray that always comes with fall here. It’s the kind of day you want to spend curled up in a chair with a good cup of tea, a cozy blanket, and a fascinating book – which I very much plan to do while my child currently naps. It’s also the kind of weather that apparently brings out my dark side. After seeing how enchantingly misty everything was this morning, I knew I had to take photos in the old barn (which I utilized yesterday as well, taking my brother’s family pictures), and I knew I wanted it to have a more Gothic feel.…

Gingham and stripes and dots, oh my!

I’ve been feeling really bored with getting dressed lately. Maybe it’s the lack of a huge and varied closet since we moved, maybe it’s that everything has been controlled by ease-of-nursing, but everything I’ve been wearing has gotten plain and modern and uninspiring to me. And there have been other things going on too; little, almost unconscious things. I’ve been feeling unsure about my weight lately, and my current body shape. That post-pregnancy confidence with having my waist back has morphed into a mild awareness that my belly has gone mommy-soft (not that it was ever, ever flat) and is bigger than it used to be, and my hip-to-boob ratio…

A plaid skirt and Modcloth shoe review

So let me tell you the story of these shoes. I may have already blogged a little about it a while ago, but you’ll forgive me for slightly repeating myself, right? I have been searching for a good pair of shoes for winter and fall here, which means close-toed because it’s wet all the time, flat or slightly wedged because high heels with a baby are not entirely practical, and in a retro style and definitely a color because I’m tired of neutral shoes and all of my cute retro shoes basically fell apart on the same day. After a long, long search, I found these on Modcloth a month…
