30 Days Paleo: Week One Recap

I posted last week about eating intentionally, and I’m happy to say so far so good! I’ve been following the meal plans I made up for myself pretty well, and it has made day-to-day life so much easier when I’m lazy and don’t want to think about what to eat. I wrote down meals for breakfast, lunch, and a few dinners (my mom and I take turns cooking), along with cookbooks and page numbers, and then went shopping for everything I would need for those meals. So there’s no mindlessly searching through my cookbooks or the fridge and not having ingredients or feeling too lazy to whip something up. My…

    Valentine’s Day Lookbook: Coffee Date

Well, after what feels like a really, really long time, I am back! And I have a baby, and different hair (mommy makeover, yay!), and a new body (well… not pregnant), and so many things to share that I don’t even know where to begin! As I’m writing this, it’s been exactly two weeks since I’ve had Asa, and motherhood really isn’t exactly what everyone says it is. Other than the “you’ll be tired all the time” part. Perspective

Some of you may have seen a little bit of this via Instagram and a compare-contrast picture I posted yesterday. But since I’m sick today, I thought it was a good time to expound upon my thoughts. Yesterday, as I was going through my Pinterest outfit archives to save old outfit pictures for a remixed-items album on Facebook, I came across these pictures above and below, and they made me sad. Not because I was going through a bad time in any of these particular pictures or because the images themselves are depressing, but because I remember exactly what I thought of myself on any given day when these pictures…

    Health Updates: The Whole 30

Recently, I read a post by Jessica of What I Wore about The Whole 30. She recapped the experience from the benefits to how she ate and even some exercise she did while doing The Whole 30, and it got me keenly interested in this lifestyle change. I am not going to call it a diet, because really… it’s not a diet. It’s a change of life. A change of what you eat. A choice to put healthy food in your body and leave less-healthy foods by the wayside. I have been looking for this sort of information and backup for a really, really long time. It’s the kind of…

    Weekly Check In: Diet Talk

Note: Please understand that with any of my diet and exercise posts, I am not beating myself up over a number. I fully understand the difference between having healthy goals and having unhealthy goals. I’m not out to lose 50lbs and diet to the extreme. I’m not devastated over my current weight or body. I’m trying to teach myself to eat healthily, make the right choices, and reach goals that I have had for a long time. I’m trying to break  bad habits that will definitely carry me to obesity if I let them keep happening. I hope you all don’t mind if I start doing a weekly check in with diet…
