Vintage heart print cape and a heart beret It’s Galentine’s Day In!

Over on Instagram, my forever Best Blogging Friend Sara — whom you all should know as In a Nutshell Blog — and I are hosting a “Galentine’s Day In” event. In short, we’re inviting all our favorite gal-pals to post their favorite outfits, tag some people they love, and celebrate friendship. There’s no limit to who can join so if you read this blog post before you see my #galentinesdayin post, go join! We’re so overhelmed with love for all the people posting already!

Heart Beret and Vintage CapeVintage heart print cape and a heart beretWhile I posted a different image for the Galentine’s Day In, I thought these were way too perfect not to share now! Besides which, Marionoberry’s Menagerie asked me to model this beret for her and I have to give it light before Valentine’s day arrives. I would never have thought to make a heart-shaped beret and I’m so delighted by this one! She does all of the handwork herself. I’m so impressed!

Definitely be sure to pop over to her instagram or Facebook page (linked in the outfit details!) to support her. This year I want to support and work with more small businesses and I’m excited that she’s the first!

In January I challenged myself to get up and dressed as often as possible, and it worked! I have a TON of photos now from January to share. But then February came. And I filmed some videos that just didn’t work the way I wanted them to. And I had a ton of ideas I wasn’t executing because I felt like I “had to” edit and put out the videos that I didn’t like.

AND THEN… I found Darling Desi (known as @theglobegoers on Instagram) and watching her content put a new spark in my heart to really start creating things I’ve wanted to create for a while so I’m FINALLY going to be doing book content on YouTube! I’m so excited. I’ve been a little stumped as to how to start putting up book content, and watching her book hauls made me realize like… I can do more than just a book review or a lookbook related to books!

I don’t think I’ve been this excited to make content in a long while.

Vintage heart print cape and a heart beret I think a lot of things have contributed to the refresh.

First, we got a new refrigerator and it’s BEAUTIFUL. Second, I found a new channel to inspire me. Third, my 1950s housewife video got picked up by the algorithm in YouTube and is slowly blowing up (it’s SO EXCITING). And honestly… I think even if you love love LOVE creating content, there’s always a wall that you hit if you’re constantly creating but never seeing any returns. As much as I try not to pay attention to numbers, it still beats you down if you’re going full blast and doing the best you can do and getting… nothing.

So it’s a nice feeling to finally see my hard work paying off, and it inspires me to keep going!
