    Flowering into Spring

I risked death for these pictures. Okay, so that might be exaggerating. But there was a very big bee that kept swarming around my head, and it was all I could do not to run away in fear. Well… walk away slowly in fear. Because running means you get stung. It was very dangerous. Ha!  And then the neighbor got home while I was taking photos, and this tree is in full view of her house and only about fifty feet from where she parks. So that was awkward. Despite the fact that absolutely no strangers have ever questioned what I was doing, and most people act like it’s totally…

    One jumpsuit two ways

So this is a garment that has my family and friends split on whether it’s good or terrible, and I confess I tried it on at the thrift store because it looked crazy and I was going to make fun of it. My dad loves it. My mom and my husband think it’s weird and ugly. And I mean… jumpsuits? I have always been firmly on the “Definitely not!” side of that argument. I used to think only babies should wear onesies (that’s what it is, basically. A grown-up onesie.) Besides, how do you perform basic bodily functions in them? Heat Waves

Yesterday was the most beautifully hot day ever. After work, I immediately changed into this because my work outfit just wasn’t cutting it for the heat. Those of you that have followed my blog forever will know that this skirt used to be a pair of shorts. Hideous ones. But, obviously, it was nothing a pair of scissors and a little stint at the sewing machine couldn’t change! We went downtown Gig Harbor for ice cream when Mr. O. got home, and as you can see, while we strolled in the heat, my hair fluffed out for the first time… ever. I’ve never dealt with frizzy hair before because my hair is…

    Polkadots and Sunshine

You guys, I am a total style thief. I saw Signe Roo’s post wearing this outfit yesterday, and I immediately went home ( well, as soon as I got off work) and changed into as similar an outfit as I could, because I LOVE it. It’s the perfect mix of summer and retro qualities. I couldn’t resist replicating her style. Of course, I don’t have those fabulous sunglasses or any adorable  booties (not to mention her amazing hair) but for what was just hanging in my closet,  it’s not bad. Right? I’m totally digging the tied-up shirt thing right now. I can’t wait for spring and summer to come and stay…

    Wishing For Sunshine

I’ve been working very hard lately on getting items photographed so I can finally open up my new little pet project of a vintage/retro online store, and as I was photographing this skirt to sell, my husband saw me and said “You’re not getting rid of that, are you?”  Apparently, he really likes it. So I guess that means I get to keep it! Which is nice, considering mostly he tells me “Eh, lose it…” when I ponder whether or not I should keep an awesome vintage piece I originally bought to sell. But now that I think about it, I know why he likes this skirt: it’s part hippie,…
