    Of smiling

I have never liked smiling for pictures. And by smiling, I mean… showing teeth. I always felt self-conscious about it because I thought it made my face look chubby. In fact, I’ve never really liked to be photographed by anyone except for myself and one or two trusted — professional — photographers. Even now, I tend to give a close-lipped smile, or just generally try to look pleasant, for others taking photographs or myself when I’m doing blog photos. But I want to change that. Because I love seeing other bloggers smiling. Who doesn’t want to see someone happy? In particular, I’ve been really inspired by Alex of Into The…

    Joy

If ever there was a piece of clothing that embodied joy for me, it would be this skirt. I mean, it’s vintage, it’s twirly, it’s got a quirky but classic print (dandelion fluff?), it’s that irrisistable soft material I love, it’s pleated… I can’t get enough! Joanna from Cut and Chic Vintage sent it to me, and as soon as it arrived I knew it was my soul mate of skirts. So in love. I had forgotten, too, how much I love this time of year. It was 29 degrees out when I took these pictures (I know, crazy pregnant woman in short sleeves, whatever; it was just for pictures),…

Coral owls and new blonde hair

I think summer has come and totally kicked the drizzle of spring out. Super early. It’s supposed to get up into the seventies-eighties this week and stay there well into the weekend. I’m so excited! I LOVE the warm weather, even if it means our upstairs is a total heat box at night, and during the day I just stare out the window at work and wish I could go out and play. I still really, really, really love the blonde hair. Given, it’s only been five days since I got it dyed, but I just love it more every day! A few tips, for anyone thinking of going blonde:…

    Tied up in Knots

Let me tell you a story. This story involves a girl, a shirt, and a problematic situation involving buttons. You see, this girl loves to wear pretty button-up shirts tied up, and thinks they look swell. But the fact is, those button-up shirts dislike staying buttoned, and as life would have it the girl’s shirt decides that outfit-picture taking time is the perfect time to unbutton, and thus she doesn’t notice that half her outfit pictures were taking with a scandalously wide gape on her upper half. And the girl has to go re-take her outfit pictures. Of course, this situation is nowhere near as horrible as the time said girl’s shirt…

    St. Patrick’s Day.

So, as you probably guessed by the title, this is what I wore for St. Patrick’s day. I didn’t want to go overboard with all-green (I could have. I’ve got green tights, this skirt, and a few green sweaters… or I just bought green pants), and this skirt originally came with a pink belt, so I had to wear the pink tights. This skirt is also part of tomorrow’s tutorial on how to shop like a genius. (Yes. I am calling myself a genius. y’know. Not that I’m vain or anything. Hehe.) I won’t spoil it for you, but this and three other skirts were part of a  pretty smart…
