    Retro swing skirt and motherhood

I am back! And feeling pretty good! The last time I updated you, I was dealing with some heavy postpartum blues. I’m glad to report that those have, for the most part, gone away and I now only deal with a rare pang of sadness that Asa is growing up so fast. Which was bound to happen anyway. Otherwise, we are surviving far better than I had expected, especially given the issues of Evie’s first two weeks of life. I think getting back into our normal routine helped Asa and I both tremendously — he went back to sleeping and eating as normal, and I went back to feeling…

Six Easy Retro Ways to Wear a Headscarf

So I don’t think any of these are particularly creative, but I am constantly being asked how I tied a headscarf, how I got my hair to do that, how I keep them on, what my favorite ways are to wear headscarves, and pretty much any other question you could ask about the thing on my head. October 1st

I really, really wanted to do a first of October post, and it looks like I am just barely making it! I tried today, really I did, haha! But Asa is teething, and has been unusually clingy today. Isn’t this sweater just perfect for fall? I saw it and I HAD to…

I’ve seen a few new-mom bloggers who continue to wear dresses with high necks and no way to breastfeed in them, and while I totally get wanting to dress up even for a few hours, it’s just not realistic! I prefer to stay real.…

    Take Me to the Zoo

Focusing more on writing this week has been interesting so far. I don’t want to say too much, because I plan to talk about it in my vlog at the end of the week, but I’ve been re-reading Sweet Ireland Air so that I can get back into the characters and finish the book… and I’ve realized I’m very much not a collaborator. I’ll expound on that more in my vlog later… but let’s just say it becomes a surprisingly touchy subject when my husband (out of love for ideas and excitement) starts to suggest ways I can change the story. But I’ve never been very good at taking someone…
