Borrowing
One of the nice things about having photographed the vintage in my shop is that on rainy days like today, I can borrow the pictures for an outfit post! This is how I’ve always imagined wearing this skirt, but it doesn’t fit me (it’s a few inches too small in the waist.) The delicate colors just had to be worn with this lace top, and when I went to style the outfit for the shop, I immediately knew what I’d do. Seeking Style
Recently, I cleaned out my closet, and rid myself of all of the clothes that I hadn’t worn in a few years, or clothes that just didn’t suit me for one reason or the other — too modern, too short, too big, too bland, whatever. I laid a hard rule that if it didn’t fit right, or it wasn’t quite retro enough, it had to go. I got rid of about 2 large trash bags full of clothes, which was quite nice! Island Girl
I have been meaning to blog this skirt for ages and ages now; I found it at least two months ago, but for some reason it’s never worked out to take outfit pictures when I was wearing it! Sparkle and Shine
I’m sorry if I look slightly annoyed in these pictures; it’s hot and I was feeling a bit sick. And then Asa started crying, so we didn’t have time to shoot more pictures. Ah, this weekend has not been good for taking outfit photos; on Saturday I wanted to get shots of my outfit but realized the camera batteries were both dead and we were taking a trip up to Port Townsend so we couldn’t charge the batteries… so… no camera. I hate those days when you love what you’re wearing, but then things just stack against being able to get pictures. But, oh well. We had lots of fun…

Sweet dreams…
So can we talk for a minute about how absolutely amazing my husband’s photography is? I had no idea what he was doing when he snapped the above picture, and then we got back and I saw it and… man. Gorgeous. Totally worth having to walk through some water and feel awkward posing for. And this is also a good lesson in “pose even when it feels awkward” because I often feel silly doing poses, but they nearly always look good on camera. So, you know.
