Sweater Girls | Shaped by Style

Happy Monday! After an unintentional two week break, in which I discovered that summer is just REALLY not my season, I’m over at Shaped By Style exploring a fashion trend of the 40’s and 50’s. It’s a trend that had their older generation going “what kind of mothers and wives will they be?!” Hop over to Shaped by Style to see my post!   Bloglovin|Facebook|Twitter|Pinterest|Instagram|Etsy Vintage|Circle Skirt Shop|Photography

    Perfectly Plaid

With the breakout of fall there always comes a rash of bloggers gushing over how much they love fall in all of its fall-ness. The Starbucks-pumpkin-spice-latte-loving, scarf-piling, crisp-orange-leaf-day-adoring, will-make-everything-out-of-pumpkins-imaginable bloggers. And, just as opposite but equally emerging are those who protest the former. Who don’t like Starbucks, who live in a climate that doesn’t have fall weather, who can’t stand pumpkins, or who just simply don’t like fall and hate the platitudes brought on by the change of weather. I am always amused by the stark contrast of these two types, and always find myself extra careful to avoid stereotypes as the weather changes. For the most part, I try…

Vintage plaid and a flower crown

I have been wanting to wear this pretty plaid dress from Stranger Bird Vintage ever since I got it (along with this gorgeous bohemian dress), but it needs a little bit of tailoring. Which I knew when I chose it, but uh… girl should have known better. I’m SO bad at fixing the clothing I get right away, and I’ll admit that I’ve had skirts sit in my “hem” pile for six months. Hemming literally takes like ten minutes. So I’m quite glad that being pregnant has helped fill the dress out a little more, along with this belt, because I’m not sure where my sewing machine is any more…

In which I mostly stare at my feet.

Two posts in one day! Yay! I decided I didn’t like leaving my last post for the weekend as a video. Somehow, I much prefer leaving pictures to for you to look at while I’m off gallivanting around town. There are some dresses or skirts I have that, for whatever reason, I always mean to blog about but never have. This dress is one of them– so far as I can recall, anyway. I’ve worn it at least twice before this, but somehow I just never take pictures when I wear it.  I think it may be that it’s just one of those dresses that usually doesn’t feel like I can do a…

    The day she…

I didn’t get a chance to photograph yesterday’s scarf outfit because my camera’s batteries died, and the day before that I had a hectic day and didn’t do a proper outfit. I also haven’t blogged all weekend because of 1. hectic things, 2. hectic work, and 3. the fair. But I have some exciting news that I was waiting to be finalized (aka spread to the right people so someone didn’t see it here and go WHAT???) before I told you lovelies. Can you guess? If you guess right, you’ll.. .get… um… the satisfaction of knowing you were right. (Is it just me that finds the above picture slightly amusing…
