These are a few of my favorite things

Today has been a rough day. I don’t usually dump my moods on the blog, because I like it to be a relatively positive place and also I dislike being a Debbie Downer, but today, you guys… it’s been one of those days where I just wanted to be done with it before I even got up. It started at about 2am this morning with Asa’s waking up and crying because he’d lost his pacifier… and then again at 3:30am, and then he finally woke up at 4:30am and whined for a bit until I figured out — 15 minutes later — that he was hungry. Then he woke again…

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

On Sunday, Mr. Owl and I got to go to the Rainiers’ game with my work (well, we were the only two that were available to go other than my dad, and he didn’t want to go alone!) It was SO much fun… even though we lost. Whatever. I love going to baseball or football games; I think it stems from growing up with three brothers who all played both sports, and going to home games in our small town, and rooting for them, goofing off in the bleachers with my friends, buying candy we didn’t need with what little money we could scrounge up… Ah, memories.   This game was…

    The day she…

I didn’t get a chance to photograph yesterday’s scarf outfit because my camera’s batteries died, and the day before that I had a hectic day and didn’t do a proper outfit. I also haven’t blogged all weekend because of 1. hectic things, 2. hectic work, and 3. the fair. If you guess right, you’ll.. .get… um… the satisfaction of knowing you were right. (Is it just me that finds the above picture slightly amusing…

In which I feel very patriotic

Awkward moment of the day: wearing a fake engagement ring to work to ward off the creepy men, only to have one of the nicer regular guys see it and– since he’d wanted to Facebook friend you and it didn’t seem to be working– have him wave off your “I’m sorry it’s not working” comment with a slightly disgruntled  “Don’t worry about it, it’s obvious you’re not interested” … and then having to make him his drink. In silence. While wondering how to let him know that while you aren’t interested, you weren’t just lying and ignoring him on Facebook. Happy moment of the day: not having to worry about awkward moments…

Oh. Em. SQUEE!!! (Yes, that is a very juvenile expression. No, I don’t care what you think)

Once again, I haven’t finished reading the book I’m going to review. Then again, I didn’t actually get the book until yesterday, so… y’know. I promise I will review it by the end of the week. But I didn’t really want to do a book review today, anyway, because there are two other things on my mind. Subject Number One: IT’S MY LAST DAY AT WORK!!! Ahem. Sorry about that. I can’t help it. I am probably a tad bit more excited than my soon-to-be-ex manager would like me to be about this. I mean… it might hurt her feelings a little that I’m nearly bouncing in my seat right…
