Baby Number Two: Pink, or Blue?

Happy April 1st!

But this actually isn’t a joke. We’re having a girl, and I totally knew it! I’m SO excited. I was hoping we could do the gender reveal idea I wanted to do, and while it would have been cute with a boy too, I just… I think it’s cuter with a girl. Haha! I would have cried when the Doctor got to the “what gender do you think THAT is?” part, except it was a man, and he was older, and I don’t like crying in front of strangers. So, you know. I cried inside, with happiness.

I’m so excited to buy girly clothes and girly toys and… girly everything! She may not grow up to be super girly, but while she’s little and doesn’t care, this baby is probably going to be the girliest baby you ever did see. Partly because then people might finally quit thinking Asa is a girl. But mostly because I love baby girl clothes, and I’m excited I can keep them for myself this time.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday!

I’m going to go storm up some good baby girl names.

I am! I will find out April 28th. I think it’s a boy and mildly jealous of all the ruffles, pink and peaches in your future 🙂

Aww, that’s the day after my birthday! I can’t wait to hear what it is for sure! I mildly wanted a girl the first time around, but boys are SO fun, and I’m so glad Asa turned out to be a boy! Mamas and little boys have a special bond like no other!

I am just over the moon! I can’t believe I was right! And I get a girl!!!
I don’t think it would be creepy at all! I’m really excited to start getting girly stuff. Aaah!

Congratulations Mama Owl, Daddy Owl and Asa Owl! Happy for your lovely family to be growing by one.

So glad you’re having a girl, although I had 2 boys and they do rock and don’t seem to have the drama my sis has with her adult girls, although not to freak you or anything. Love your reveal photo. A friend of mine revealed hers in October using pumpkins with a little pink pumpkin-adorable! But I’m a shoe girl–so I’m just loving those cute little girly shoes.

Boys are so fun! And I agree; girls can be dramatic, haha! I sure was! But I’ll be ready for it, knowing how bad I was. 😉

That is such a cute idea! I’m a shoes and clothing girl, too, so I definitely wanted to get cute newborn pink shoes or socks that looked like shoes to reveal.

YAAAAAAAAAAYY!!! That’s so exciting!! 😀 I was sort of hoping it was a girl! I mean, I think boys are fantastic and fun and all that, but there’s something especially exciting to me that you’ll get to do all the girly baby things. 😀 Yaaaaay!!

    • Eccentric Owl

Boys are fun, but girls get the fun CLOTHES. Haha! At least, that’s what I think; all my friends who had girls first are like “no, boys get the cute clothes!” and they just don’t know what they’re talking about. Other than bow ties. Bow ties are cool.

I cried on the way home! I’m so excited!! I wanted Asa to be a girl, but am so glad he turned out to be a boy. You know, that she will probably not be girly just because you are? At least, I’m not girly and you are. That’s just the way it works sometimes. I am so excited to get started on some cute, girly clothes! You will probably end up with more than you can use, but that’s ok. IT’S A GIRL!!!

I WOULD have cried when the doctor told us it was a girl, except he told us in the most awkward way ever, and also I didn’t want to cry in front of him because he was… just very interesting. Haha!

Aunt Mary Lynn had girly girls, and she’s girly (and grandma is girly, right?) so, you never know! Maybe she’ll be more like I was, and play in the mud in dresses. 😀

Have to ask… How did he tell you?!! Lol I’m so curious as you have said he was awkward!

        • Eccentric Owl

Sorry this took me forever to respond to, but so, yes: he pointed the ultrasound thing at her parts, and asked “so what do you think THAT is?” and I knew, but I didn’t want to blurt it out, so I sort of just shrugged, and he said “it’s a labia!”

My husband didn’t hear, so I nudged him and said “did you hear that, it’s a girl!” and he asked “so… how sure are you?” (because his sister was told her first was a girl, and then later they realized it was a boy.)

And the Doctor just started going on and on about how there was no mistaking it was a vagina and that was definitely a labia and EVERY other technical term you have for t hose things he said, and it was hilarious. And awkward. And I was thinking “um… you could have just said “I’m 100% sure”

But, it was an entertaining story!

Hooray hooray! Congratulations – what exciting news! I am so thrilled for you guys! I don’t have any experience with boys yet, but I can say with conviction that little girls are so much fun. 🙂 Hurrah!

    • Eccentric Owl

Thank you Erin! I have lots of nieces so I know how fun girls can be! But I LOVE having a boy, too, so I can say they are super fun too! I’m very excited to do girly things now, though!

    • Eccentric Owl

Haha, so funny story: I always hated the Berenstain bears because our last name was Burnson, and everyone was ALWAYS like “aww, like the bears!!” and I got annoyed that it was NOT like the bears and people were stupid.

      But they’re not actually bad, so… y’know.

  • Amia

Oh congrats Kristina, that’s so exciting! Little girl things are so adorable, it’s wonderful that you get to have a little boy and girl 🙂

Congrats on the little lady!!! We did a gender reveal party last Sunday and I found out I’m having a girl too (first baby) and you can tell by my reaction it was what I wanted!!! Haha I don’t like to post videos on other people’s blogs but I feel you will like it (from what you wrote!) and not sure how else to get it to you to see?! Lol I’m so excited to try out some of your maternity outfit suggestions, IV been subscribed to your blog for a long time but now I’m pregnant the maternity wear is finally relevant to me haha

I feel like so far I have struggled to find cute outfits that don’t make me look just really fat and because my boobs have got huge too, it’s hard to find flattering shapes. The 50s style skirt and top combos are a great suggestion though! anyway, congrats on the little princess. One of each is the jackpot!!! Take care, TheFussyOne https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oqPkIxMYJ4M

Your reaction is SO great! I love it! And yes, you are right, I love seeing other peoples’ videos of things like this! I’m so glad you shared. Congratulations! When are you due?
