I am so excited to share this second installment in the Lindy Bop Nursing Dresses collaboration! This denim-colored Matilda dress is the perfect button up dress for a nursing mama. Breastfeeding is a breeze with the buttons that come up from the waist. My favorite thing of all? The buttons don’t gape! As a larger-chested mama, and I’m sure many breastfeeding moms can commiserate with this, it’s so nice to find dresses that don’t gap between buttons. I often have this issue and tend to avoid button-up for that very reason. But the Matilda presents no such issue, and remains smoothly closed as long as you  need it to!

Normally I would think of this color and cut as more of a summer dress, but I was determined to make it fall. Not only because I loved the idea of contrasting tights, but also because I tend to feel out of my element in solid-color items, and I wanted to conquer that little hurdle. And, I ended up loving this outfit! Adding secret little hidden details like the mushroom under the scarf made it feel special.

The Matilda is a great option for breastfeeding mothers if you want more variation than the usual stretchy items! The buttons are easy to use — not too small, nor are there too many — and I find that this is actually a bit easier and quicker to use than most button up dresses I own. Plus, it has pockets and as a mom on the go that’s always a plus! The top is fully lined, which helps add support, and it comes with a belt! One of the things I have come to really appreciate about Lindy Bop is that most of their dresses come with a fun belt or sash, which is an easy way to add to my belt collection.

I decided to style this dress with orange tights because I’ve been asked a few times how to wear tights now, and it’s cold season officially! My general tights-wearing rules are really easy:

  1. Pick a color in your dress, wear that color of tights, and have an accessory that mimes it
    OR
  2. Repeat your tights color family elsewhere in your outfit in some degree
    OR
  3. Accessorize with similar colors elsewhere

Easy, right? I heard a home decorating tip that when you’re decorating with a color scheme, you want to have three items in the same color around the room to make it cohesive, and I’ve applied that to wearing tights as well. Only, two colors. The more the better, really, but I found that the tights in combination with the almost-orange flowers on my purse and the dusty fall roses in my scarf made for the perfect combination and kept the orange color from feeling out of place!

What do you think? how would you style this dress, or these tights? Do you love tights like I do, or are they a mystery item to you?
