Hearts and Roses of London dress, retro heels, and Jane Eyre

Welcome To The Eyre Effect!   I am incredibly excited to introduce you all to this new-and-improved space, and what better way to start a revamped blogging experience than with the story of how it all came to me, and this impossibly perfect Hearts and Roses of London dress? Why I Chose “The Eyre Effect.” When I first named my blog, quite a few of my top favorite blogs had two-word quirky titles, usually with an animal or object in them. I wasn’t really sure what my blog was going to be other than a fashion blog (and previous to fashion, it was just a journal of sorts), and I…

Inspired outfit/Book Review: The Flight of Gemma Hardy

I grabbed this book at a garage sale because 1. I liked the cover, 2. I’m looking for new books to read and can’t get to the library often, and 3. I very quickly skimmed the first few sentences of the summary and it sounded interesting. I started reading it that night, and was immediately struck by how very similar to Jane Eyre it was, which confused me for a second as the part of the summary I’d read didn’t mention it being a retelling. Movie Review: Jane Eyre 2011

Before I delve into the review, let me give you a little background story. Jane Eyre has been my absolute favorite book since I was eight years old. I only like bugs when they’re turquoise and big enough to sit on.

Don’t forget, I’m changing my url on Friday. Everything stays here, but you’ll have to re-bookmark me, or type in eccentricowl.wordpress.com, as I can’t afford to buy the automatic redirect package.   Details: Cardigan($5), Target; Shirt($6), New York&Co.; Skirt ($12.97), thrifted (Forever 21); Shoes ($10), Walmart; Approximate outfit cost: $33.97  I don’t have much to say today. My mom and I went to the fabric store, and I got a beautiful pattern… but every single fabric I wanted to use didn’t have enough. I suck at picking out good fabrics. And then we went to my favorite restaurant and ate this: I love gyros. They are without a doubt my favorite food.Ever.…

    Friday’s Fashions

I’ve been a terrible poster this week. I haven’t done anything on schedule except for the Weekly Writing Challenge on Monday. Not that I feel bad about that. It’s my blog, and I’ll write what I want to write. So there. 😉 (Really, though, I’m sorry. I’ve been very disorderly of late.) So today is going to be my fashion post day, because I can’t think of anything else to write. I’ve been boring lately, too. Gosh. I need to go on more adventures or get married or… start stalking someone. Hmm. That last idea may not be a good one. Ahem. On to this week’s outfits: And today: I’m…
