    Take Me to the Zoo

Focusing more on writing this week has been interesting so far. I don’t want to say too much, because I plan to talk about it in my vlog at the end of the week, but I’ve been re-reading Sweet Ireland Air so that I can get back into the characters and finish the book… and I’ve realized I’m very much not a collaborator. I’ll expound on that more in my vlog later… but let’s just say it becomes a surprisingly touchy subject when my husband (out of love for ideas and excitement) starts to suggest ways I can change the story. But I’ve never been very good at taking someone…

    Goals of a New Mom

Today my goals are simple, and I only have three: 1. Stay dressed — this might not seem too hard, but believe me: when you have a newborn, you only get about 5 solid hours of sleep a night, and your house is almost always cold, it’s very tempting to stay in the softest, warmest pair of pajamas you can find and veg out watching Sherlock on Netflix. So I got dressed this morning in my new Oasap shirt, and I plan to stay dressed. I love this shirt, though, so it shouldn’t be hard. 2. Do the dishes. Determination

¬†You guys have no idea how difficult it was to take pictures today. I mean, getting out of bed is hard. Getting dressed in real clothes is a victory. And putting on my own shoes? That, my dears, is almost impossible. I mean, when you’re only six days away from your due date, it’s a miracle when you see your feet, much less reach them. But after the struggle of getting clothes and shoes on, I triumphantly came downstairs only to realize that 1. it was raining, and 2. the tripod is in the car. Which my husband drove to work. Still, I was determined. After all, this might be…

    Hello, 2014

Cardigan c/o Oasap | Motherhood jeans | Forever 21 tank top | JC Penney boots Happy 2014! This is probably the closest we’ll get to a maternity shoot. And possibly our last photoshoot together before Asa is born! I’ve got 9 days until my due date, he’s dropped, I’m feeling very, very sporadic contractions (as in, 6am then 12:30pm one day, then nothing till 7pm the next day, then something like 3pm the next day…) and everything feels like it’s gearing up to have this baby soon. I’m itchy all over, too. Which is slightly annoying, but hey! I’ll have a baby soon! How has your 2014 started out? Happy…

    Sparkle and Shine

I can’t believe Dressember is almost over! That means my pregnancy is drawing close to its end, too, which is starting to be a welcome thought. I figure if this kid just holds out until next Saturday, then he can come whenever he wants. But I really want to go on vacation with my husband’s family the 1st-4th, so I don’t want him to be TOO early. Haha! Just a week or so. And can you believe it’s almost 2014? Crazy. I didn’t make any resolutions last year, and this year I think my only resolution is to stick with Paleo. I haven’t been eating clean during the holidays, and…
