    Pregnancy update (also, it’s winter!)

As I mentioned yesterday, I am officially eight months pregnant. This means I have eight weeks left to go in this whole journey of pregnancy, which is a thought that seems incredibly amazing to me. Have I really been pregnant for eight months already? Is it really only going to be — give or take– eight weeks until I have an actual real baby in my arms to take care of??? Generally, I don’t feel too overwhelmed by that prospect. I’ve wanted to be a mother since I was like… five… so finally being at that point twenty years later, it’s more exciting than scary. Of course, once I’m actually…

    The Bee’s Knees

This dress is one of those dresses that I really, really love, but rarely wear. It’s just slightly too long for my taste (I prefer knee length), and the sleeves are kind of huge, but I love the color, the pattern, and the vintage 70’s/80’s ness of it. And for some reason, I think it works better on me while I’m pregnant. I feel like I’ve definitely grown more confident with style being pregnant, which was totally unexpected! I’m more bold in my choices, and I feel more like I have found a style that I belong in. I hope that doesn’t end once I have the baby. Tonight, the…

Princess Leia’s Pregnant Bond Girl Bridesmaid

Things I love about this dress: 1. The color. Oh, the color! It is that perfect bright coral that I just want to soak in for hours and never take off. 2. The length. I can’t resist floor-length gowns. Especially not when they’re this color. 3. The innate 1970’s of it all. It is, through and through, a completely 70’s gown. The length, the high neckline, the sleeves; it’s a product of the late 60’s ladylike-ness coming through to an early 70’s hippie. 4. Obviously, that it really IS a late 60’s/early 70’s evening gown. I can’t resist a vintage piece, no matter how whacky it may be. (To wit:…

How to Get Dressed While Pregnant (and not get bored)

As I get more and more pregnant, I’ve been searching high and low through my closet and normal stores for good items to wear that aren’t specifically maternity. As I have mentioned, while it’s really fun to realize yes, I can finally wear maternity clothes… they’re expensive, and a lot of them are kind of boring. And now, as I’m nearing five months pregnant and I can no longer button pants or wear fitted-waist dresses, what do I do? Well, if you’re like me and you don’t have a lot of money, plus don’t want a closet full of clothes that are useless after you have the baby… read on!…

    Dandelion Fluff

This, my friends, is what our yard looks like right now. Isn’t it beautiful? And also, shameful? Ha! My husband is incredibly allergic to grass, so he attempted to mow down the beast our yard has become but after a few rounds on the mower, he came inside with red eyes, a runny nose, and terrible reactions to the grassy pollen. I could hop on the mower and try, but it’s a sad little mower with one dull blade that cuts like a two-year-old self-trimming with blunt scissors, so… I’m going to wait and see if I can convince my mom to come over with her awesome mower and do…
