Five Months.

As I mentioned yesterday, it was Mr. Owl and my 5 month anniversary. His parents apparently kept making fun of us for celebrating by saying they had been together for five hundred and something months (they’ve been married for 43 years), but I think inside they just think we’re cute.

And maybe a little young… and possibly pathetically inseparable… but mostly just cute.

We celebrated by going out for Mexican food. We nearly consumed all of a ginormous burrito, and did consume all of a cheese crispy (crisp tortillas topped with cheese, guacamole, onions, and tomatoes)… and afterward, we went to the store and got Reeses Peanut Butter Ice Cream Bars for dessert.

Yes, they were as delicious as they sound.

And of course, since it was our anniversary, Mr. Owl had to join me for a few outfit pictures.

This one is my favorite. Even though we both look a little ruffled (the wind was brutal! I was freezing, but I refused to wear my coat because it didn’t look great with the outfit), I just love the picture. And I can’t believe how long his hair is getting! Before we started dating, Mr. Owl and his younger brother decided to grow out their hair and donate it to locks of love. I’m not sure how I feel about this, but I do like Mr. Owl’s hair as it is now, so who knows! He might look good with even longer hair.

One of my friends thinks that he’s definitely got a Mr. Rochester vibe going on, only he looks happier. I have to agree. And maybe that’s why I like his longer hair… because I’ve had a crush on  Mr. Rochester since I first read Jane Eyre over ten years ago.

I cannot get over how much I love this outfit. This skirt is just a tad bit too tight around the waist, but it has a stretchy back so I can mostly get away with wearing it comfortably. Unless I eat too much Mexican food. Which did happen. Sometimes, even stretchy waistbands aren’t enough.

I want to look like this every day. The bright color, the filmy shirt, the pearl collar… I love it all! I’m really afraid to wear this collar too much, though, because it’s an antique and it’s quite fragile. A few of the pearls have fallen off the ends… and the finish on them (they’re not real) is rubbing off.

Mr. Owl didn’t tell me one side was tucked under my shirt. Oh, well. We were both eager to get out of the wind and get back to playing Mario and eating our Reeses Peanut Butter Ice Cream Bars.

Another thing I really love about this skirt: it has pockets! Very handy for when you don’t know what else to do with your hands in a photoshoot.

I feel like this post has a bit of a picture overload. But I really loved this outfit, and this day, so y’know. It’ my blog, I can do what I want, right?

 {Thrifted} Shirt: $3.99 | Skirt: $4.99 | Shoes: $9.99 {Antique} Pearl collar: $8 {Target} Cami: $12.99
{Total}  $39.96

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday! It’s almost the weekend!

HI! 😀 I think that this post is one of my all time favorites! Not only because the outfit is so amazing (and I actually thought that there weren’t enough pictures haha), but also because you look SO happy! SO happy, and this is the best thing. Look at this smile on your face, it’s obvious that you’re having a nice time and honestly I’m deeply glad about you! Your Mr. Owl is super lovely and I do like his long hair, it makes him look like Mr. Rochester for sure! OK, I’ve talked about everything but I forgot the most important: the outfit and THE FOOD! As for the outfit: It’s perfect from head to toe, you look rad, this collar is perfect, I love your style, you know it!
Now as for the food *_* *_* SO good! Thanks for making me hungry (not that it is something difficult, you know :P)! That’s all! I’m off to study Latin :O Kisses :*

Aw, thank you! I am very happy, I’m glad it shows! And you are so sweet!
I’ll have to tell him you like his hair; his family keeps getting at him to cut it. But I like it. 😀
Haha! Well, you’re welcome for making you hungry! Re-reading this post made ME hungry! I love food. 😀
      Have fun studying!

I completely agree with you on Mr. Rochester!! He’s amazing. Have you found a certain Mr. Rochester you like best out of all the movies that have been made? I still need to watch the 2011 Jane eyre production….

My absolute favorite Mr. Rochester (and Jane Eyre film ever) is the 2006 version with Toby Stephens (who I linked) and Ruth Wilson. It’s seriously… perfect. Everyone was cast SO well, and they’re all exactly how I pictured them in my head when I read the book!

I haven’t seen the new one, either, and I’m sort of reluctant to watch it because I love the 2006 version so much. But then I sort of have to watch it, because I’ve seen every version I can get my hands on… so…

Awh, congratulations lovely, I’m so happy for you and Mr Owl! You look so beautiful in that outfit too, it seems like you had an absolutely spectacular day. Not only do you two look so beautiful together, you also look so happy together! I think that’s so fantastic that you’ve found someone like Mr Owl to be with <3
Also, he does look very Mr Rochester-ish in that photo, you lucky girl! His hair does look very nice long, but hey, Mr Owl seems to look pretty fantastic in anything so… 😀

Thank you, my dear! By the way, I’m still working on that letter. I haven’t forgotten! I’m just… incredibly slow. But it’s coming!
Yeah, he does look good in anything. It’s unfair sometimes.

I just adore those kinds of filmy shirts. There’s something very Bohemian about them. The pearl collar/necklace thingy is beautiful!

Congrats again on being the most adorable couple ever. Well, besides my brothers and their wives that is 😉

Me, too. I really want more filmy type shirts– to me, they seem very sort of… delicate Edwardian dress. Kind of like this: http://www.vintagetextile.com/images/Gallery/c198x.jpg

Teehee, why thank you! 😀 We try. 😉

  • Feathers & Freckles

You look so pretty and happy! I love this skirt, even if it is a tad too tight for a night of Mexican food 😉 You and Mr. Owl make a very sweet couple.

    Have a great weekend!

Thank you! Yeah, I really should take into consideration where we’re eating before I dress. Then again, it’s good if I go on a diet. I can’t eat too much. 😉

Congrats, you two crazy kids. Are we ever going to find out what Mr. Owl’s real name is? Or is it Hunky McGorgeous like I think it is? Or Gerard. He sorta looks like a Gerard…

That skirt is amazing. Funky bright clothes make me happy 🙂

    • Mara

This comment made me laugh out loud. Seriously. I am going to call him Hunky McGorgeous from now on. It’s funny, because one of my early joking nicknames for him was Big Hunk, like the candy bar…
I might eventually tell his real name (but it isn’t Gerard), but right now I can’t convince him to let me tell you all. So Hunky McGorgeous/Mr. Owl it is! 😀

Sounds like you two had a fun outing!
You also looked super cute! I can tell why you loved this outfit so much. It’s simple and pretty. The color of your skirt is an amazing shade of blue too. You look so pretty and happy!
