    Librarian Style

Every once in a while when modeling items for my shop, I put on a garment and realize I can’t bear to part with it. That’s the danger of having items that fit you when you mean to sell them. But when I put on this vintage dress — which I didn’t try on when I found it (I generally try things to see how they look on, even if they’re too small or too large) — I decided that it was going to become a permanent part of my wardrobe. The color is gorgeous, the sleeves are so unique, and it buttons which means I can wear it…

Maternity Style: All the Pretty Little Horses

There are some items of clothing in my wardrobe that seem to magically work no matter what stage my body is going through. When I’m not pregnant, when I am just a few weeks in, or when I’m only 17 days away from my due date… it doesn’t matter. This dress always does right by me and I’m not surprised that it’s being snapped up by my fellow Shaped By Style blogging gals! Emily styled it with lots of other colors which I LOVED, and now it’s on its way to Hannah and I cannot wait to see how she pulls it off! I have spent half the day trying…

1960’s wiggle dress and playing dress up

One of the things I love about having a blog is that it allows me to wear and share things that I can’t wear for more than the time it takes to shoot the outfit, or I just don’t wear because… still trying to get over that inner fear of being different in public. This outfit falls into the former group (and maybe a little bit into the latter, but mostly the former.) The dress itself is made of material that stretches, but the lining does not. Therefore, the lining hikes up to just under my belly/over my butt when I walk, and it’s impossible to bend over or reach…

    Let’s Pretend

Do you ever imagine what it might be like if you were a celebrity? I do. Often, even though I can’t act worth beans and I don’t actually think I would like the life of fame, I imagine walking the red carpet and being interviewed; and mostly, it’s because of the clothes. I would love to be a woman who had access to sweeping gowns made by brilliant designers, to be fitted perfectly to my body; I would love to have someone professionally touch up my makeup — or learn how to do it myself, since I have a thing against other people touching my face — and fix my…

    Rain, Rain, Go Away…

Thrifted vintage dress and heels | Target tights | self-made flower crown | old umbrella | New Old Fashion Vintage scarf Well, today I am not that happy with anything. It’s dumping buckets of rain outside, which limits my photographing ability; I adore this dress but today I just couldn’t get it styled the way I want it, my hair is having one of those days (any attempt to do anything with it has been foiled) and is getting to the point where I need to decide whether to dye it red or back to my natural color and I just don’t know, and also I’m cold. So here’s the…
