    Wednesday on a Wednesday

All Dress August This month I am doing a fun All Dress August challenge with some internet friends of a BST group on Facebook, and I decided to also throw in a color challenge. Since I just organized all of my dresses by color, I thought it would be fun to do the ABC’s of color again, like I did YEARS ago. Yesterday, of course, was the first day, and I wore almond (a dress that needs to be altered, so I didn’t take photos.) Today, obviously, is black. But also, it’s Wednesday Addams-inspired on a Wednesday, which is a pun I didn’t even realize I made until I sat…

    Sunday Sweet | Mother-Daughter Outfits

Happy Sunday! Yesterday I had dressed Evie up to take some pictures of her at the park, and realized that I had an outfit that coordinated. So in a way, she decided what I was going to wear today (although we took pictures of the outfits yesterday.) She and I rarely match, because I actually don’t have that much pink in my wardrobe (surprised?) and her wardrobe is almost ALL pink. Since it’s Sunday and it’s my “off” day, I’ll just leave you to enjoy the photos. Have a restful day! I know. So many pictures of Evie. #sorrynotsorry. 😉 My outfit: entirely thrifted | Evie’s outfit: top, thrifted; headband,…

Book Review/Inspired Outfit: The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate

I meant to do a book review with this outfit, obviously, but I put it off so long that I don’t feel I can accurately review The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate any longer. When I finished the book, I really enjoyed it but I also felt so-so upon closing the last page; it was entertaining and definitely worth a read, but didn’t leave me moved in any one direction. Which isn’t as helpful when I’m trying to review it; I want a book that captures my emotions and keeps me thinking about it for days afterward — whether it be with love or with sadness. The best books impart lingering…

    Christmas Day

Well, my friends, it’s nearly 2015, and I’ve decided to take a little breather between now and the new year. I have three posts scheduled — a look back at my favorite outfits/posts this year, and a post of resolutions, and a book review outfit that I never shared — before January first, but other than that, I’m off until the New Year! I hadn’t planned to take a break, but this morning I woke up and realized that I’ve never, ever taken a break from blogging other than right around the time that Asa was born. I’ve got a lot of plans in the works for this blog next…

Christmas Cocktail Party: Get Ready With Me!

First of all, please take this survey as I am striving to improve the blog in the new year and would love to know what you’d like to see more of, what you think could improve, and any other feedback you might have! I gotta warn you guys, today’s post is going to be very photo-heavy. But since there are only a few days until Christmas, I thought I’d do at least one Christmas-themed outfit/makeup post. A few weekends ago, one of our friends hosted a Christmas party that was Cocktail-dress required, and I didn’t realize that until we were almost to the party. So I didn’t get to go…
