Coming Up Violet || Lady V London Ursula Review

As you may notice, I teamed up with Lady V London to show off three different styles and this is the second of the three! This gorgeous gingham wiggle dress is part of their plus-size collection. The Ursula is not at all what I expected, in the very best way! I recently bought an Elsie and I adore it, but while I’m pregnant it’s not quite working with its (super cute) wrap-esque hemline and super stretchy fabric. Once I’m done being pregnant, it will be perfect for breastfeeding and it won’t ride up, but right now because of my belly and the super stretch fabric, it’s just not quite working!

The Ursula, however, is made from cotton and 3% spandex, and it has just enough stretch to fit my belly but a whole lot of structure for a really, really flattering fit.

I am forever excited to add more items to my wardrobe that will work for many stages of life, and the Ursula is yet another fantastic dress for everything: a structured wiggle that works both while pregnant and not pregnant, a good neckline for breastfeeding, an easy-care fabric for washing up around kids, and a comfortable fit that can be dressed up or dressed down. And can we talk about the color?

Of all the colors I’ve worn on my blog, somehow purple rarely makes an appearance. I don’t know why; when I was little, purple was my favorite color. But somehow as I’ve gotten older and lean more towards reds and yellows and oranges, purple has been pushed to the back of my wardrobe and this dress makes only the third item of any kind that I own in purple.

And after styling this with one of my favorite colors, I think I need more purple! I love contrasting colors, and there’s something especially sweet about purple and yellow together.

I would love to know — what is your favorite color combo, and why? I think of all the color combinations I’ve worn, this may be my favorite. It reminds me of the gorgeous swing dress I bought a while ago that is yellow with purple on it, and then recently I added a 1940’s zip front dress to my wardrobe in yellow and purple, for post baby times!

Speaking of which, this baby is getting so close to being done! I am looking forward to meeting this little one and, I must admit, getting back to the wide variety in my closet that awaits me!
