When I challenged myself to blog every day this month, I thought I would start to get tired of it. But much to my surprise, I’ve felt a burst of creativity in the last few days. Painting the Roses Red
With it being October, I have costumes on my mind. Growing up, we didn’t celebrate Halloween at all; when the 31st came around ours was the dark house with nobody that answered and occasionally brothers who wanted to hide under piles of leaves outside and scare anyone who walked past. We have really only lived in a neighborhood twice as it is — once in a small town when I was between the ages of 9-13, and once right after Mr. Owl and I started dating. OH MY GOODNESS YOU GUYS. FAVORITE. COSTUME. EVER. Sorry for the all-caps, but seriously. I didn’t expect this to come out as good as it did; I was really struggling with what to wear from my collection of red things — this, or this, or this, or this — and I finally decided the lace dress worked the best with these tights. But I still wasn’t that enthralled with it; I’m kind of over the shorter length of dresses on me with heels… and I was also missing some pattern to tie in the black shoes and black belt. Dot dot dot…
I am very, very ready for fall to start. We’re having a late summer here, and I’m so done with the warm weather! I want to wear tights and sweaters and know that it won’t be too hot at work. This got just a tad bit too warm for comfort towards the end of the day. I can’t wait for fall and winter to set in!
