    My Week on Instagram

The two biggest things of the week, obviously: I started writing again (and subsequently kept forgetting descriptive words and just marking my place with “WORD” so that I could go back and replace it. Hopefully I remember to actually do that…) and I went blonde. I am shocked by how big of a difference it made to go blonde! So many people didn’t recognize me. Because of the blonde-ness, I also updated my makeup routine. Which you can see in full here. I’m loving the new colors I can get away with now having blonde hair. It’s amazing how changing your hair color can open up  new possibilities that you wouldn’t have…

Daily makeup adjustments as a blonde

So once I went blonde, I immediately realized I would have to make a few adjustments to my makeup routine. With dark hair, I could play up the contrast of pink cheeks and blue-red lipstick with my pale skin. But going blonde brought out the natural redness in my skin. That redness I didn’t want. As well, my eyebrows are significantly darker than my hair now, which can be tricky to pull off unless you have the right makeup. Which is always. Right?) For the daytime look, I used the three non-glitter shadows to create a nice subtle smoky eye. I really love those three shadows– they’re so smooth and saturated, and only creased a teeny bit throughout the day! I’d…

New Year Wishes and Instagram Outfits

I have been very faithfully recording my daily outfits on Instagram lately, so if you’re craving more outfits and I’m slow posting them to the blog, check on my Instagram, @owleccentric! I will be trying to make an insta-outfit pictures album on Facebook, but I can’t really do that until we get internet at my house. I have a few New Year’s resolutions now that we’re in the New Year and I’ve finished sharing my wedding pictures with you all, and since I didn’t do an official “Happy New Year!” post, I thought I’d do that now. So here they are. My new years resolutions. 1. Wear more/find more vintage…

Narcissism. Aka, outfits according to Facebook and my phone.

I haven’t been able to get outfit pictures lately, but here are a few via Facebook. If you don’t already follow me on Facebook and you’re aching for more content… hop over and like me! I usually update with terrible quality phone or webcam pictures, but hey! It’s better than nothing. And if you are missing the “Friday Links” feature, you’ll also find that I share links throughout the week on Facebook, such as the actually-from-1940 makeup tutorial, or the incredibly tempting new food blog I found via Picco, and, of course, lots of owl-themed links. And you’ll also find albums I’m trying to update, like my closet archive.…
