Thrift Haul #5: The (mostly) Home Goods Edition

Happy Saturday! I think Saturdays might become my thrift-haul-post (or video) days, because you know… who doesn’t like a good thrifty post on the weekend? I hope you all don’t mind the makeupless, messy haired version of myself. It was between putting on makeup, and making a video, and obviously I chose the latter. But hey, I don’t really care so hopefully you don’t either! Real life, you guys. Soon I’ll have a baby-clothes-themed thrifting video because… lucky finds! I posted some things on Instagram, being the “I can’t wait to share this!” person that I am, but I’m sure by the time I get around to making a baby-themed…

    Guest Post: October Rebel

Hello, I’m Anna of October Rebel. I’d like to thank Kristina for inviting me to post on her blog, and I wish her all the best in her adventures in parenting. It’s no secret I get a lot of my clothes from thrift shops. All great thrifters have their own system for successful shopping. I loved Kristina’s Thrifting Vintage: a few tips for finding and dating vintage clothes from December. I don’t consider myself a great thrifter, but I have a system of my own that keeps me focused in the hectic and confusing environment of the thrift store. The thrifter strikes again!

Since I won’t be able to do an outfit picture today (dead camera. Also, busy life), and I went thrift shopping again, I will instead give you a sneak peek at the things I bought. And ahead of time, I apologize for the quality of the pictures/the dressing-room shots. My camera’s batteries died, thus… they’re all phone-camera pictures. First, the six blouses (all button-up) in their various patterns: Second, two skirts: This one, I will be hemming one or two inches. And I know I am not supposed to do this, but for this skirt I am going to try to lose five pounds. I love everything about it– the…

    Fish in trees

Details: Shirt ($3.99), camisole ($1.99), and skirt($2.50), thrifted; shoes (unknown, under $10), Target; necklace, gift. Approximate outfit cost:  $18.48 My brother bought me this necklace. I rarely wear it, since its chain is quite long and I prefer my necklaces to fall just below my collarbones. But the neckline of this shirt is perfect for a longer necklace. I went out for coffee with an old friend this morning, and had planned to do one of those picture an hour posts… until I realized that the rest of my day was incredibly boring. So instead, you get a picture-an-hour for the first half of my day. That should be enough.…
