    Doppleganger Makeup: Cher

Ever since I parted my hair in the middle this weekend, I had about… oh, I dunno… everyone commenting to say I looked like a young (pregnant, less plastic) Cher. So, of course, what is a girl to do but steal makeup ideas? And I don’t know you guys, I actually see it now that I did this makeup. So let’s get started! You will need: foundation, concealer, eyeshadow primer (optional), black and neutral shadow (used: Night Sky and Champagne Fizz), taupe shadow (I used the one from the Natural Smokes pallet), shimmery dark brown and shimmery cream shadows, bronzer, black or brown eyeliner, black mascara, and a brownish-nude lipstick…

    Makeup Look: 1960’s Twiggy

Ever since I’ve sort of made the commitment to more retro styles, I’ve realized a very important thing: it all starts with your head. Whether it’s a hat, makeup, earrings, whatever, I’ve noticed that in order for someone to look totally ensconced in a look, their head has to match what they’re wearing. And I love this. It means I get to do all sorts of fun makeup looks. Today, I want to show you how to do an easy 1960’s mod makeup, inspired by (or totally copying) this picture of Twiggy. Makeup routine, product reviews, and plum smokey eyes

I haven’t done a makeup tutorial in YEARS. Now, I’ve been trying to film one, but I am now so used to sitting still and posing that I’ve lost my knack for talking to the camera. There will also be product reviews for a few of the items I use, in case any of you are looking for good affordable makeup.  I hope you all enjoy! Start out with a clean, moisturized face. Moisturizer is especially important before foundation if you are dry-skinned…

How to get away with blue eyeshadow, and some quick hair ideas.

Being a green/hazel-eyed person with rosy skin, I’m not really the type who is supposed to wear blue eyeshadow. Many times, it makes me look like I’ve got black eyes, and it makes the whites of my eyes look yellow. But I was determined to do a  blue shadow look, and Ashley sweetly emailed me for some advice on her makeup and hair for her prom. Perfect timing! So here we go. 1. Start with a good foundation and blush. Preferably a more peach blush, as it’ll go better with your blue eyeshadow. 2,3: Highlight your brow bone down to the inner corner of your eye with a neutral light…

    Wedding: A Makeup Tutorial

I am doing my own makeup and hair for my wedding. This isn’t a very scary prospect for me; I know some brides get tense thinking about doing their own makeup and hair, because they want it to be perfect and they’re afraid they can’t do it alone, but believe me: it’s way easier than you might think! Plus, I’m not big on things like fake eyelashes or a bazillion steps for perfect skin. So I thought I would bring you an easy, relatively quick (say… 15 minutes max, skin included) and glamorous makeup look using a makeup palette that was under $6, a $3 gel eyeliner, and only three…
