    Polkadot skirt and Pregnancy

I have found my skirt soul-mate. This is the first impulse purchase I have ever made online. Ever. Usually, when I see gorgeous clothing online, I think “it’s so pretty,  but I would want to try that on first” or “it’s so pretty, but $x amount for a dress is just out of my spending budget.” But this skirt, you guys. I saw it, I shared it on Facebook with many exclamation points, and then I remembered I had some carefully saved up Paypal money meant for nothing but spending on pretty things. And I bought it. Within about five minutes of seeing it. (I came, I saw, I purchased.…

Lord of the Rings shirt and Polka Dot skirt

Today, I’ve been reading through forums on a certain site about why people get annoyed with fashion bloggers — whether in general, or specific bloggers –, and it’s been… interesting. Reading negative feedback about bloggers as a whole or bloggers that I follow and like has ruffled my defensive feathers here and there, but it’s also made me really evaluate my own blogging. Now, I kind of hope to never be under the radar of that forum, because let’s face it: who wants to be criticized when they think they’re okay? Sweet as Cherry Pie

Please vote for me in the Firmoo Blogger Awards contest! All you have to do is click the “vote” button once a day from now till the 14th, and you’re done! No sign-up, no required email address, nothin’! Just a click and done and I will love you forever! I don’t know why, but somewhere along the last year or two, I’ve quit mixing patters as much as I used to. I feel like back in 2012 when I really started getting into my own style, I mixed patterns and colors willy nilly, but then somewhere between then and now, I stopped. I don’t know why; perhaps I was trying…

Gingham and stripes and dots, oh my!

I’ve been feeling really bored with getting dressed lately. Maybe it’s the lack of a huge and varied closet since we moved, maybe it’s that everything has been controlled by ease-of-nursing, but everything I’ve been wearing has gotten plain and modern and uninspiring to me. And there have been other things going on too; little, almost unconscious things. I’ve been feeling unsure about my weight lately, and my current body shape. That post-pregnancy confidence with having my waist back has morphed into a mild awareness that my belly has gone mommy-soft (not that it was ever, ever flat) and is bigger than it used to be, and my hip-to-boob ratio…

    Owl and the Boy Vintage

It’s here! This last weekend, as I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I worked hard to get some listings going, and after consultation with a friend and also some posts on Facebook, I decided to open up shop today! I’m pretty excited about this. For some reason, I almost love finding and styling vintage to sell better than finding and styling vintage to keep. It’s just a really fun process, and I’ve always enjoyed the behind-the-scenes process of styling, shopping, and photographing for things other than personal style. So, what can you expect to pop up in the shop? Well. Right now there are nine items up, most of which are…
